Met Abi …once …a cracking beautiful girl …in the flesh a real vogue model beauty type of a girl …and in our brief chat came across as a real down to earth girl a credit to our city …aware I’m gushing a bit it wax one of those bloke sees a beautiful girl and one’s Jaw Drops moments
Behind the mask was one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac albums. Only Lindsey Buckingham replacements I liked. Great songs on there, my favorites of Billy's were In the Back of My Mind and Hard Feelings. I guess Hard Feelings was about his split from his wife. I was in highschool at the time, and it was such a good dis song I'd cackle with glee every time I heard it. Bella L
Thank you for this interview, great to hear Sam open up about everything and I'm glad he's found success in a different career. Hope of the States are by far one of the most underrated bands of all time and I'm forever thankful I got to experience the height of their career when I could. If I were a billionaire, I would hire them to reunite straight away!
Damon - listen to idles… I love you man you were my inspiration to pick up the bass. I loved you saying on 5 string bass. “Jimi Hendrix didn’t need an extra string why should I”
Damon is absolute class!! He epitomizes what a REAL musician should be. His immense intellect, his musical genius, his incredible articulation of the English language, his stupendous bass playing, his amazing comedic abilities, his good looks, and his sweet, charismatic persona, make him a universal legend and a formidable master of life. I think we ALL must thank Damon's mum and Dad for having such a talented and intelligent son.
My dad organized Armenian zeytountsi dinner dance at the art deco ballroom at the Normandy hotel Avenue francaise west beirut 1950 to 1975. 4 times a year. 1956 to late 1962 a certain weirdo called kim philby used to hang around there to get free drinks. He looked an old drunkard. Tales from dad I was born June 3, 1958. 1960 Kim's dad dies, another eccentric named saint John. Kim requests my dad to attend his dad's funeral at bachoura Muslim cemetery near riad El sol7h Square downtown beirut Strange days indeed My dad was an instructor of English at various institutions, part time at AUB. A certain John Munroe or Munro my dad's very bast friend and hero, an AUB English professor PhD...warns my dad to stay away from this toxic Kim philby character
Mike seems like such a calm, down-to-earth, carefree guy here, yet onstage he's one of the most energetic keyboard players I've ever seen. Truly immerses himself in the music. I really hope he sticks around with Noel for a while to come, because they make a great team. NGHFB just wouldn't be the same without him. Neither would that MTV Unplugged performance or several Oasis studio tracks.
Really enjoyed this interview. Shane played keyboards/piano on so much of my favorite music in Country, CCM and Pop. I can’t find any other interviews other than yours so good on you for caring to highlight his work. Some of my favorite records he played on were for Amy Grant, Ronnie Milsap, Kenny Rogers & Micheal W Smith. So creative with his parts and the sounds that he created pushed the envelope and explored unique ways to tap the songs full potential. Thank you for making this interview happen.
