🧐 hmmm wouldn't it be easier to find two fitting TOK tensioners that fit 45 degrees into the keyway on the right side? Is there any benefit from having your fingers "stretch" in both ways instead of having precise control of how the core turns using one very snug tensioner? If they are nice and snug you can use "one combined" tensioner to control turning in both directions. I'll try it out on my own ABUS EC75 to make sure. Right now I'm baffled that I can't open euro profile cylinders because of the milling that houses the pinstack. It just feels like it glues down the pins as you pick them. I learned yesterday while picking the GOAL S that I can use float picking to lift these pins, regardless of the new technique introduced, I couldn't get an open. Which is kind of sad 😢
Currently busy trying to pick this one. The idea of float picking it, has not come to mind yet. I just find the pins to be brutal strong in this particular lock. To add salt on the wound, it also has pins coming from the top which obstructs the keyway even more, making positioning of the flag even harder than it should be.
I've given coworkers a couple of my most rare and important keys for things at work. Once you get good at picking locks and bypassing, you pretty much have a master key to the entire world I've even gotten in through a few locked windows lol
excellent work by HJ, too bad Vegemite doesn't come in candy form for you to try. also wanted to say excellent png and breakdown, and another excellent song cover.
Thanks brother! I really appreciate the opportunity to be part of your first batch of CL's... keep up the amazing work, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🤘
Thanks! It was hard at first... the hardest part was finding a tool that would fit. I found that I had some multipick deep hooks in 0.4mm that worked well. The thin shanks on those picks are perfect for d12. I'll edit this comment soon to say which exact mp profiles I found that worked for me, here shortly: - Multipick V05
@@IsaacHashman thanks bud i tried making a pick and thinning it right down but then lost the strength so kinda chucked it in the naughty bucket but im a bit more lighter at picking now and u made tht look effortless so need to dig it out and try again
Nice Video👍 The plug is light serrated by the factory on old and new d12👍= old D12 was when different brands make them before menny brand merged to Assa abloy.
Very cool information! I really appreciate that Viking,, thank you 🙏 That would be awesome to try out one of those old d12's, I'll have to keep my eyes open for one!
Lol thanks Downfall, Eric Clapton is one of my favorite guitarists of all time, and was one of the people who inspired me to play. This song in particular (the original) is extremely sad, and has brought me to tears many times. I wanted to make my version funny, but also sing it seriously out of respect to the song. My main worries are that someone would be offended at my rendition of this song, or conversely, that they would be too worried about offending me to actually laugh at it lol. I know I sang a bit more seriously on this one, but I still want people to laugh at how ridiculous it is lol. That being said, I'm also happy if people just enjoy it without finding it funny... I make myself laugh, and that's what counts! 😂 Thanks for the nice comment buddy ❤
Sorry to add two comments , but i rewatched this video & this has really great & helpful information , I'm been working on white & yellow ranked locks ; trying to move to orange & green , I think this will be very helpful , thanks so much , a 70 great. Old beginner , moe
I picked my blue one yesterday and picked it 3 times more today. Interestingly my lock required me to man handle 2 of the pins a bit to get them to set and open the lock. Now, I just need to figure out how to gut the lock and check what is inside. I'm counting two serrated spools that get me two false sets and then an open lock. Of course the rest of the pins - which are serrated by the way - need to be set too before proceeding to the spool pins. I ordered two more American Lock 1100. One just came today - a beautiful gold one - but I coukdn't pick it the same way I picked the blue one. There's a red one on the way, but I'm not sure when it will arrive.
Float picking is definitely a thing and is required to pick certain locks such as the Assa 700 when gins get stuck in the countermilling. It's not about how many tensioners you have, it's about being able to fully control the plug's rotation in both directions. That way you can pull back on the tension to a very specific degree without dropping pins that have been set or partially set. Therefore if you are just using one tight fitting tensioner, it is still float picking, as I explained in my video. As for what method of float picking is best? It really depends... there are up sides and down sides to both. With 1 tight fitting tensioner, you have more space in the keyway to work your picks, but at the same time, the keyway will eventually start to wear, and the once tight fitting tensioner will start to become loose. On the other hand, 2 tensioner are harder to work picks around, but will never become loose even if the keyway becomes worn
Very nice picking on that! I love watching the 19 being picked. Shows that masterlock used to make at least some quality locks... Nice of J to loan that out! Thanks for showing that!
I think I’m dealing with this situation but the lock is deep in the cabinet and I don’t have any of those tools, I’ve found where the bolt is and I have gotten it to like move slightly but I’m not sure how to do the rest 😭
@@IsaacHashman you are welcome, and I just taken apart another 19 so I plan on putting together a video with that one and answer some of the questions you had so look for that shortly
They are pretty tricky! I want to get one for myself one of these days. J was very generous to lend me his. Currently I'm working on an assa d12 keyway with no holes in the warding... going to have to make a special tool to pick that one...
1968 I think and I think that they were made until the 80s but not certain, excellent picking and glad you enjoyed.... welcome to the Master Lock 19 pickers bragging rights for getting the open 🦾🔥👍 I also want to say good job on getting a close up of that core turn just before it opens 👍🔥🦾
@@bodhi-pickahfilecoinlurker5964 i remembered that someone had . mentioned it in a video or had seen it mentioned in a discussion but they actually made them much longer than I thought. still not exactly sure why they stopped making them for certain. some say costs, but I also suspect a different cause from what I have seen in the 2 cutaways. that the drivers and the pins fall below the sheer line and that's what causes the serrated pin feedback.
@@bodhi-pickahfilecoinlurker5964 you maybe right, I no longer have the cutaways and can't verify totally. i do remember seeing them just below the sheer or at sheer ( the top of the drivers ) the drivers are the same height for the long and short key pins. 2 known pickers have 1 of each of the cutaways that I have had made with a 3rd that will have a special home.
I appreciate that! I have been trying to work on my editing skills, but I feel like I still have a long way to go lol. Thanks for stopping by and the kind words 🤘
That is the best idea I've seen yet is to mark numbers on the pick like that. I'm a beginner and I was trying to figure out how I could get used to how far most pins on easy locks are apart from one another and I didn't even think to mark like a ruler or a guide on the side of the pic as a visual. Thanks a lot for that little technique you use like that !!!!
You bet! Thank you for mentioning that. I was just thinking that instead of using lines like I have in the past, I could put numbers and that would look cool for the viewer. So I'm really glad you noticed and liked the idea! Good luck on your picking journey and don't be shy if you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out to me any time 👍
Thats really impressive picking and yes J has all the 19s lol 😆 and he is an amazing guy for lending out to the community ❤so we all cam learn and try put etc😊nice video brother 👍
I know right?! I don't know when I would have had the opportunity to play with a #19 if it wasn't for him. Thanks for checking out the video and the nice comment 🤘
