Same design different manufacturing process. So they are not the same.Go ask many engine shops they will tell you the LS7 is a very problematic engine. There is no permanent fix for the problem.
i dont think so lol. bone stock plaid ran 1:14.2 and soon it will be 1:13s imho, bone stock. it also ran 9.2@151 at drag strip and can haul just as much crap in the car.
I ordered brembo pads and they are a direct fit in the caliperholder also . However , when i tried to install the caliper it did not want to slide over . Even with brake piston fully turned in. Brakepad material too thick
I did this on my 24 civic si because I was having Apple play connection issues and sometimes the screen doesn’t come on at all, so I have to turn it off then back on. I was surprised to see that there was no navigation app in my app manager.
So I have never done this and know very little about cars. 15:38 What is the reason for grease on that part since there is no part that comes in contact with it? 19:06, no material against it?
Maybe someday I will be fortunate enough to own either one of these, but i didnt hear you mention 2 very important things, depreciation favors Porsche, and the option for a manual, which also favors Porsche
Was a good truck till a injector failed and grenaded my motor very disappointed chevy made a motor that can be tooken out and can trash this motor ,beaware of the or be like me a pay 18000 dollars for a new motor milage was 52000. Still a chevy guy but very disappointed !
You're seriously off saying that leaving it in auto will produce faster lap times. Skilled drivers are always going to use manual shifting. Look at any time attack driver using DCTs or the 8HP auto found in BMWs and the A90 Supra. They're all manually shifting for more precise control.
I had a 2023 m2 and in auto it sucks. I also have a 2022 c8 stingray and (2) c8z06s and I leave it in auto on track and they do just fine. my feeling is even pro driver, you ain't going to gain much (less than .3s) but manual shifting. I have already went thru 3 + sets of tires on stingray and z cars. on a small track 10 turn 1.6 mi track, the stingray with good track tire like 3r can hang and possible beat z06 on oem 4s tires. driven on different days but my best in stingray on goodyear 3r is faster than z06 on 4s. for me the stingray is much easier to drive than z06
Bought my S2000 when they came to US in 2000. Surprise surprise thought it would be only one year out🤣 They continued to sell for several years since it is the best most fun sport car I owned and I owed several ❤
The reason these engines have so much power and potential is the same reason the valves drop - GM used a frigging race head on a production car. Not many cars capable of putting 630 N/A whp to the ground with a cam, intake, headers and factory heads. Sure, they could’ve put a regular LS head on it and a 5800 rpm redline like an old fashioned big block, but they didn’t. My Pontiac 455 was out of wind at 5500. 250 cfm flow only goes so far. The LS7 valve stem has less support than the standard LS valve stem, and a significant amount of lift for a production car. Gwaltney’s solution of the longer guide for more support is the best path to longevity. If you want even more peace of mind, stick with the stock stick or limit your lift. That huge stem sweep combined with a short guide, not a mileage master. It’s gonna wear out pretty quick. I bought my car well aware of this, and that’s why I love this car, and I’m glad GM had the stones to offer it in a production vehicle. The maniacal laugh this car generates when I get on it reminds me of the big blocks in small cars back in the day, a 455 Ventura, 440 Duster, 454 Nova. But nowhere near this fun. I was going to take the car out for an hour a few days ago, I drove that thing for half the day, and somehow only used a quarter tank of gas. Had that been an old musclecar it would’ve gone through 2 tanks in that time 😂. Sure, there are faster cars out there, but with the fun factor this car has, I don’t know if there will ever be a car built like this ever again. I didn’t buy it to look at the interior, it is acceptable and that’s all that matters. GM put the money where it matters. It makes me feel like a kid again, and there’s no amount of money in the world that can buy that happiness.
Reliability is my primary concern. All of his criticisms can be identified upon first look. If I can live with a CVT or hard touch plastics that will be my decision. His review was unprofessional and randomly negative.
There's a reason why everyone compares their cars to the Porsche.......I've owned numerous sports cars throughout the years and finally decided to see what all the fuss is about with Porsche. Purchased a 992 4S and there's nothing like it. Hands down the best all around sports car that you can live with on the daily.
If you're going to spend 35k on a car and the engine is 20k of that price, spend the 3k to get the heads fixed. Yes they are bad from the factory, yes it is worth fixing. Yes, this is the most amazing engine in the world.
Totally onboard until the Porsche comparisons... a base 911 Carrera 2 is a better driver's car in general. Both great cars, 100%, but they are not in the same league.
Brother is going to be looking at a 06 ZO6 tomorrow, trading in his 3lt 2013 standard Corvette. ZO6 has double the miles and is a 1lt. They are going to straight trade. Good deal?
@@FlyinGato yeah we passed. Car had a 2mm lip on the rear rotors from doing standing burnouts, had paint damage from a light collision, a cut hole on the wiper cowl just to get to a bolt, the seats were worn and the first owner mustve been fat and lazy bc the hinges were bent and noisy on the doors. Most beat ZO6 I ever saw in my life.
c6 2009 3lt, 26k miles just bought it two weeks ago, got the common gas leak/tank crack, I think the rear right strut/shock is shot makes sounds, and a possible intake manifold leak besides that amazing car
I picked up a 2008 in Pa 2.5 years ago with only 6,008 miles on it. I sold my C7 with just 7k of mileage to my son. No regrets! My Z06 is the same color of beautiful blue. Still have just under 9k on it. Had another C6 Z51, so I sold that to my daughter. My Z06 will likely be my last Corvette of 6. Still have my C3 that I purchased 30 years ago. Quite sharp, as well.
My Z06 History with issues. 2007 Z06 17k miles Rear end (never launched just a lot of play) replaced Oil pan gasket Motor mounts Power steering pump Starter Battery Car is solid as a rock now.
