I recorded a track with my BOSS GT 1000 CORE without IRs in my DAW and edit it with Cabinetron and it sounds absolutely fantastic ! When I export it from Cabinetron and use it with my BOSS GT 1000 CORE it sounds horrible (Harsh and thin ) and nowhere near what I made with Cabinetron ( ! What am I doing wrong ?
I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t run a non-linear process in parallel unless you’re okay with the phasing. That’s why it includes a mix knob and output gain. Similar actions, different results, but you are using it for sound design vs for mixing so it’s probably fine. (Love this plugin, great video, man).
@@wuujujuuju nonlinear processes don't expose phasing in parallel. you are probably confusing it with multiband effects where the internal mix knobs are designed to compensate for the phasing. spectral processes don't need that though. it's like a high performance linear phase split
Holy zipper noise, lol. that's pretty bad. adding to the fact that the dude is vehemently against demos and doesn't do refunds..it aint winning me over
I agree, there should be either a demo or refundability or both, because otherwise you have to rely on content creators to tell you if it's cool or not. I kicked off the video with an example of every parameter modulated and mentioned the zipper noise twice in my video to make sure that people know they might not be in for the cleanest modulation experience, but I'm sorry if that didn't come across enough
@@Beatsbasteln i couldn't see the text, so no worries. just had it playing in the background and picked up on it instantly. zero interpolation or integration is kinda weird to hear in a plugin this modern. its something i'd expect to hear in some cobbled together Synth Edit or Flowstone plugin, but especially not one somebody wanted money for
@@TheJohnsofDoes he hasn't fully figured out parameter smoothing with allpass filters yet. It's a real shame, considering how nice the filters can be rearranged with the parameters of the plugin. I also mentioned it to him when I was betatesting it. But I still think it's a good one. It challenges the idea that stacked allpass filters always have to be on the exact same frequency to each other. It could become a whole 'subgenre of plugins' if that makes sense
Rather partial to the Eventide Instant Phaser and Flanger. that feedback is just really chunky sounding. feedback in a lot of modulation plugins just sounds like buffer delay to me
@@Beatsbasteln Ah, thanks! Is it the threshold curve for flipping the polarity? Also, since the polarity is dry do you change the mix to 50%? I'm completely new at this and there's not a lot of documentation on this.
@@shirounurimba6898 the plugin has no delta feature or polarity flip button, but your DAW has one. so you have to keep the original signal around in parallel with the output from spectral compressor, but you polarity-flip one of them
The name actually comes from the idea that Chameleons are able to blend in with nature, hiding in plain-sight. Same concept can be applied to allpass filters where you don't nessecarily always notice that they are there but can still do drastic changes!
@@ewanbristow Noticed that a few days before release 🤣Chameleon was already announced a few weeks prior to the release on the website so it was a bit late to consider a different name :D Then again, the whole bundle is called Chameleon, X is just one of the plugins related to the allpass suite, just like 1, 2 and N are! ;)
I love messing with the harmor phaser. Its parameters can be mapped to so many different values within harmor as well. This allows for incredibly controlled notch movement.
My rule of thumb right now: If you just wanna give some kicks smack, use Disperser! if you plan to modulate parameters to get crazy sounds, use Diopser! And if you wanna hear stacks of allpass filters in unusual shapes, use Chameleon X!
@@GillamtheGreatest is it? i don't wanna shame anyone for not knowing how harmor's phaser works. it's just a fun fact to me. i would even say it's a good thing that people recognize this phaser's sickness without knowing how it works, because it proves that it's really legitimately unique and not just for the sake of innovation in general

@@Beatsbasteln Now that i have had some snacks, its honestly something i hadnt thought about, the implementation, so it is really cool to know. makes me wonder if their other phaser stuff might have similar ways of working or if there is a effect pugin that does it the same way
@@GillamtheGreatest in order to do that you'd have to resynthesize the signal or process it spectrally. basically any spectral gate that lets you carve phaser-like notches through the spectrum, like digitalis
I would love to make some sound design now. Problem is, I am at work and have stuff to do. So at least I can feel creatively productive by second screening a sound design session with a new plugin I'm interested in. Expanding my mind towards the topic of ego death is a very welcomed cherry on the pie.

Dude. Holy fuck. Was not expecting this from a plugin review or whatever I thought this was. Audio fits the text weirdly well and I fully agree, I think, with what I can relate to. Especially lucid dreaming is a weird sort of non-rest imaginative state. Awesome but also kind of surprisingly bland. What is the source audio btw? Sounds weirdly familiar, like a carnivals of the animals vibe, but don’t think that’s it. Anyways, cheers. Seriously.
@@ultratot the source audio... i shouldn't actually say it, because it is like the forbidden fruit of sounddesign. but i typed 'random shit noise' into texttosample and generated a 10sec pseudo mudpie like that xD I just wanted to quickly have something to work with
@@ultratot making cool mudpies is one of the core sounddesigner experiences though. i wouldn't always generate them with AI, even if they sounded great

sweet :) the download section is on the plugin's github page on the right, where it says 'release'. you don't need to compile the code or anything, unless you use linux
@@Beatsbasteln I tested it a bit - this one can't do fast enough attack and release with the envelope follower to get a real pitchmap replacement (that would have a very different sound still) I think
@@Beatsbasteln I also do like mint - but similarly I like definitely prefer the "moroccan mint" over the more herbal taste of some other varieties. I also like a good black or green tea, specifically english breakfast or assam.
