Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT) protects Marin County's family farms and ranches from development, ensuring that these working lands will continue to provide local food, open range and rich natural habitat for generations to come.
SYNDICATED CONSERVATION EASEMENTS I have and do advise anyone who is considering entering into a syndicated conservation easement transaction today: do not even think about it. The litigation costs - let alone the time and energy - of a battle with the IRS simply cannot be understated. As a tax controversy and tax litigation expert witness who has never lost a case, I represent clients who have involvement with conservation easements. It is because of that representation, however, that no matter how much I think a particular conservation easement case has a very good chance of being decided in favor of the taxpayer, I know that such a victory may be Pyrrhic at best. Anyone considering whether to settle or fight in a conservation easement case should carefully consider the financial and emotional cost of litigation when evaluating a possible settlement. As I’ve said before, fighting the IRS can take an emotional and physical toll on a person. Contact me, Lance Wallach, at 516-236-8440 or Wallachinc@gmail.com before the IRS contacts you.
Licensed professionals involved with conservation easements or micro-captives all have something to “look forward to” while navigating a return to the workplace following the pandemic shutdown - increased IRS audit activity. The IRS plans to start these new audit initiatives, some of which are continuations or expansions of previous or ongoing audit programs, after its People First Initiative expires. Lance Wallach receives hundreds of calls annually to help people fight the IRS and get their money back from the promoters of these scams. As an expert witness, Lance's side has never lost a lawsuit. Peter and I are thrilled to see this! It is so helpful to be well-reminded of the beauty and the importance of protecting ranches & farms. THANK YOU ALWAYS
What a beautiful video! I grew up in MARIN, I live here now, and I continue to educate people where I live now about MALT. MALT is such a beautiful and important purpose. Thank you for this video.
Where are your fleeces processed? It would be great to support the end product! Also, any way to ever watch the shearing? (NOT during the pandemic...) It is such a lost art. Thank you for your land stewardship and happy critters.
