jesus christ, I had never seen Dean's infamous tutorial before but my god that was painful. I don't care if you've never picked up a controller before, how can any adult be this bad?
I like how this video was supposed to make fun of a journalist but really just turned into a bunch of people reliving what it was like learning videogames for the first time
This video taught me to design better UIs. Instead of being understandable by elites like 5 year olds, I am asking myself now: "would an IGN reviewer understand it?"
What I find the most interesting is that the 5 yo was clearly taking his time, just trying stuff out. Like, when there's an instruction to shoot, he's shooting for several seconds before proceeding.
I think game mag companies really think gamers are incredibly stupid or something. It feels that way putting someone that doesn't like video games in charge of a good portion of video game stories.
heheheh i like how you only put your kid up to the challenge after seeing he had 20 minutes+ to do it. i think that says more about you than anyone else ;'3
It is the hallmark of a good parent if a five year old is literate before his schooling. The part with the pink dots had a LOT of big words, and the five year old still managed to match the color of the dots and the word "pink", and successfully executed the command. Keep it up, get your kid into more reading, and don't let him on the Internet until he is a teenager.
The kid is unironically still the winner, though. Because he was stopping and trying to LEARN how to play. The other guy was essentially just smashing his head against the wall, expecting something to happen.
