London still has more people overall (8.8 million people vs 2.1 million). Something that’s also not always obvious is that London has so much green space that by some definitions, the entire city could be considered a park.
marlboro reds are £16 now…£16! that’s enough for a few days worth of food. and bensons gold is like £17. extortionate prices. and my local corner shop does cigs for like £5 a pack they’re polish imports but they taste like cardboard. cigarettes have taken a downturn in this country.

Spent the night on mylopotas beach. If I remember back it was very popular with Australians. Night life was trippy seeing people's bodies painted and it was like something I've never experienced on any other Greek island.

At a time when there was no England, the whole island (which the Romans later named Britannia) was occupied by various different Celtic tribes. The Celtic name for the whole island was Albion. This is a name that 'stuck' and was remembered for hundreds of years, and in the SW especially, even after the Roman's left. After the Romans conquered the south, the part of Albion (still free) north of their dividing wall came to be known as Alba, although the Romans called it Caledonia, and Alba is still the Gaelic name for Scotland.

When comparing London and Istanbul, it's interesting to note that Istanbul has a larger population, with over 15 million residents compared to London's 9 million. However, in terms of land area, London is slightly larger, covering about 1,572 square kilometers compared to Istanbul's 1,539 square kilometers. Both cities have their own unique charm and historical significance, making them incredible places to explore! 🌍✨
It was Britannia (along with Wales), North of the wall was Caledonia. Before the Romans I imagine most of the indigenous tribes hardly knew they were on an Island.
well-informed! The name "Albion" is indeed one of the earliest known names for what we now call England, used by ancient Greek geographers from as early as the 4th century BC. This name reflects the long history and rich cultural heritage of the region.
@@TravelWithMarti It's a name I always remember, since in my youth there was a company in Scotland that made the famous brand of Albion trucks, until 1972.

Lol! In bicol around a decade ago, I was biking during a typhoon when lightning striked a cell site tower about half a kilometer away. I almost lost my balance when a bit of electricity hit me via the wet road.
