Lines and circles everywhere

Rhythm games require too much music syncing. They would be hard for me to make.

Experiment. It's viewable but hard to spawn the planets where you want them to be. Unless I allow camera control.

Experiment. Testing to see that solo planets have a circular orbit. Of course when they start interacting they would be circular anymore

its a simple "unlicensed" aka homebrew racing game made for the wii. you steer along a predefined track in a "cyberpunk" themed city with "synthwave" music in the back ground. the video does not have any sound.

yes, that will be the basic challenge to get as many to stay in orbit as possible

the outer circle is the gravity effect of the body. the sun/star is the biggest cycle

pretty much, simple gravity to make it easy to pick up and play

Solar system with planets orbiting a star. you can place the planets anywhere you want using the red circle

I balanced the speed so they dont head directly to the sun. crashing in to the sun is now game over.

nice work can you add some kind of overlay that displays the speed?

@@_Loki_ they are all moving at different speeds. the only thing that really matter is that they dont collide

They are like gamedev logs but without sound. Only Wii homebrew games that are either already completed or in development. They are a series of free game created for the hacked Wii.

I don't know of any Wii homebrew dev specific discords. Most people just setup devkitpro and hack away at C/C++ until they get something working. You can check GitHub for homebrew projects or checkout wiibrew.org for info on projects.

It's a homebrew racing game I made for the Wii.

It's a game I made for the Wii. You can play it if you have a homebrewed Wii. It's called "NewoZero"

This is an experiment I started last year. Trying to make a 2d racer using 3d objects in grrlib. The track is a spline generated +z using simplex noise. The landscape is extended from the left and right of the track so there are no gaps. I haven't done much with it recently.

I wanted to make a simple driving game. glad you like it.

It's probably n64 or PS1 graphics but either way it works. I still want to put some more stuff in the city.

There is no way to create a "custom track". The tracks are generated in game using rules that I define in the code. The code basically creates the track from start to finish then smooths out the rough edges and overlaps before letting the player drive. In this video I am testing redraw rate

Generating tracks has its own problems but since I have 100% control over the art style I can do it without worrying about realizm. You can play the game on a hacked ninty Wii or emulate it in the dolphinEmu on pc. The base game has 80 tracks.

@@arkin0x sometimes it generates a track that I like because I like flyovers and underpasses. So you will see me testing on the same tracks because I just like those tracks. Its not totally random the first 16 tracks are always the same layout so it seems like a hand crafted game.

I have moved the map to the top right. In the current game you can only see it in the centre if you crash out.

Short answer: Its a weezer album cover simulator. Long answer: Its a easing/tweening demo that I did for the wii homebrew scene. It is written in C and basically is a series of 12 squares that I am moving in 2d. there are another set of 12 smaller squares that I move as well. I think I am changing the tween rate using the controller but the movement repeats. Because of bugs the movement do not repeat exactly so things do not return to their original position when the code restarts causing irregularities (download/more info about easing demo from: wiibrew.org/wiki/EasingDemo )
