Tears flooded my eyes on this tribute. The Brotherhood I belong to, all those who served in Vietnam, especially those who did not come back. runs strong in my blood even after 54 years. Wishes for different outcomes back then will never come true...ever.

Growing up watching Ralph Waite on the Waltons, gave me a template for the father I wanted to be in the future. Now as a grandfather, I see he still embodies that roll model as father, grandfather and great grandfather. And most of all a loving husband. Thank you Mr. Waite!
What a wonderful and yet tearful experience watching this over and over. As a wounded OEF/OIF combat veteran I always have had problems in keeping emotions to myself. This magical work hits the mark like nothing else. Thank you so very very much. Also, can anyone cite the specific name of the background music for this video?? I would like to record it for simply listening on some of these lonely nights. Thank you!!

It ought to be said that there is something good for the soul of the horseman in training his horses also. To oversee and watch the progression of a bunch of young horses from beginning to ending hits pretty deep. The 4 I work now I got as unbroken yearlings, with no halter training, no handling, loaded by chute on a truck from a ranch out west. In 3 years they have become awesome workmates on my farm and in the bush logging. I trained them myself and they are my family in a way. If you have never done it you will not understand the significance of asking a wild animal to trust you enough to allow itself to work in this way and do it with a willingness and sense of interest and curiosity. It is humbling.
From a veteran The flesh and bones, or whatever is left, is not your beloved. Their spirit departed long ago and is in an eternal place. If you want hope, hope of seeing them again, hope of knowing that they are ok, hope of healing and restoration. The only way is that they know Jesus. Bring their remains home, certainly. But for the children of God. They are already home. For to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Sometimes... be it a ring, or a tag, answers a difficult question. It sends people into despair, but sometimes even then it is good, at least they knew definitively, the answer they were afraid to know the answer to. I was fortunate to live in a neighborhood where come every memorial day you see the flags, the POW/MIA flags. you see service flags on windows, and you know they are still waiting for them to come home. People don't give up hope so easily, not even after 40 years. People don't realize how painful that is... to never get an answer on their whereabouts.. and how painful it is when its confirmed they are never going to come home.
This Man has brought so much hope to me❤😢. I can do anything for my daughter with Down syndrome. But more importantly, David Egan has shown me that she can do anything she wants to do.
My grandfather fought in Vietnam, he was lucky he wasn’t killed a majority of his buddies were. He lived a good life until 5 years ago, in late 2018 he was killed by a drunk driver. What’s messed up though too is that the guy that killed him went to jail for a year and than was released. I only wish I had more time with him and that my little brother was able to meet him
This was a fabulous video & a heartbreaking video. Our only Hope Men & Women, is Jesus Christ. He is the only One who will constantly be there as our strength; to uphold us as we wait. Read Isaiah 42:10. Father God, embrace my fellow Veterans, be the strength to press on each day. For all those left behind; be near to Mom's & Dad's; loved ones awaiting good news. Sustain & uphold us all in Your Grace & Love. AMEN
