Love the very informative video guys! Is the water too cold to have a dip during February? How is the parking around Positano and Amalfi, are they very expensive? Do you know if there are tours available going to Capri/Blue Grotto during this month, February? Thanks!!!
Some older wines can deteriorate very quickly, so decanting them and drinking them say over an hour or so can be a huge mistake. It's often better to stand the bottle upright for a few hours to let the sediment settle, then taste it before deciding whether to decant. If you choose not to decant, then handle the bottle with care to avoid mixing the sediment. having a rule to "decant to remove sediment from an old wine", can be a huge mistake and could ruin a very special bottle.

Nice Succinct presentation. When you refer to commercial wineries what are you exactly referencing ? Simply larger volume producers from any denominations as there are quite a few larger players even in Italy for example who are becoming more and more corporate ? Or are we talking about the 5-10 euro supermarket red/white ?
When you are twisting and pulling the cork you DO NOT have to be slow. In fact you need to be moving a bit faster. I can compare this to making a fan with a deck of cards. If you do it slowly it does not work. If you do it fast - it does
Well, they sold Vietti in 2016, however they were still managing the property until 2023. Now they are onto a new project. will be Interesting to see how it effects vietti :)
The best benchmark for Barbaresco wines! I think I’ve said at some point in the video that the Classico is a great Barbaresco to understand vintages and build verticals. Thanks for watching by the way!
I think the storage conditions were consistent as you guys point out but I do not think that the "cork seal" with the bottle was designed to withstand the hydrostatic pressure subjected at the bottom of the sea/ocean. 🤷🏻♂ What a great way to find out. Many thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! I’m no engineer and I’d love to hear more about how pressure affects the wine. The bottles are stored at about 40 meters below sea level.
