ND was a bad choice for Powlus. He was more of a Steve Spurrier type player.

I remember he came to newcomb elementary School and talk to us. The school across the street was Helen Ford high School this was before they built the new School. Irving Smith thank you for the great advice you gave to us. In the classroom. And thank you for the great memories on the football field. Pemberton hornets football. Green and white night.

Rudy didn't die of cancer. I'm not sure if he's even dead. One may say he died of obscurity. The Gipper, on the other hand, was a legendary halfback, quarterback and punter. Ron Reagan played him in a movie. Because they both went to Notre Dame they are mentioned in the same breath, but there is no comparison. Gip was a 6'1" beast. Rudy was not.

I love McDougal, but if Powlus is your guy, why are they letting him take sacks in practice? Put a red jersey on the guy.

That's what I've been saying for years and Lou had only a 10-year run and knew how to maximize his players potential and talent wish Brian Kelly can learn how to do that and he hasn't he had them always prepared for the big

I met Wes's mom in the colosseum after the 1988 USC game ! I had overheard a guy talking in the bathroom that brooks and Watters were going to miss the game. There was a rumor that both players were shopping for watchs in south coast plaza.I would have voted to send them home as well ! I am 66 and and have attended every use nd game out here from 1964-2002 ,the td run by Tony rice WAS the most ELECTRIC play I have seen out here from ND.I have gone to just one game in south bend,1995.The Kinnon Tatum hit was ELECTRIC as well ! What is ironic I have known more USC football players from my gym in Costa Mesa ca. than ND players. My take on USC arrogance, it is not FROM the players it comes from all the FAIR WEATHER FANS IN ORANGE CO .CA!!!!!!!!!!!

So Lou was hired before the Miami massacre (58-7)?! And he took the Notre Dame job over Southern Cal? Clearly Lou did more with less (save for Prop 48) compared with today’s big $ college football landscape.

Yeah and that's kind of start at the beginning of the end for Lou Holtz I mean I love horses a coach but you know I always gave him Praises for making a good decisions at least putting the right Personnel in the right position to win and I remember that you are very well cuz I was at I'm a fan and has had it not been for Paul is getting hurt they do good with a never had that opportunity to take us to a national championship which we should have played in and we would have won he was a talent you knew the system he was a reason why we damn near went undefeated and I was just ever since they know today has been on a downhill and it seems to have a problem with a black quarterback at the helm for them but New Hope should have remembered he
