😂😊😊No one could replace Bob Hope as good funny today as was back then. Ive only seen a few films with bob hope most memorable being tith Bing Crosby The road to series great script and director .
“A rebooking, break out the champagne”. I grew up in Southend which sounds a lot like Stoneybeach. An expat listening in S Florida, a lot sunnier than Southend.
Has anyone else noticed that the post boy sounds like a girl? I don’t think it’s the same post boy in other episodes. Maybe another cast member was pulling double duty. Nevertheless, it’s a very good cast, especially the tea ladies.
Patrick Knowles was also one of those actors who was not appreciated the way he should have been. He was an extremely versatile actor---- comedy or drama!!
My dad was a big Bristow comic strip fan growing up. I don’t know if he was aware of it being produced on radio. Unfortunately, he passed away ten years ago so I have no way of knowing. I think he would have loved it. An expat listening in S Florida.
I remember my dad buying the evening standard and always liked Bristow I remember him being a big radio listener but am not sure if he listened to this...
As a kid, I remember my dad used to love Bristow in the Evening Standard. I never realized it had been made into a radio play. An expat listening in Florida.
Another great Bob Hope movie, this time he gets the beautiful Rhonda Fleming in the end. And Roland Young out of his "Topper" character and the bad guy. Great movie. well worth watching again. Joe S
