Outside of cinematics this game did a really terrible job at making you feel like you're in a super advanced suit that's literally fused to your body. Short ass camo and armour modes. Slow ass energy recharge. And armour mode depletes faster when taking damage, least that's how it felt. I never played like iron man. I played like it was cod. Because if I tried playing like I'm iron man I fckn die!
It’s an artificial consciousness, the suit is operating without a host, a living one anyway, Alcatraz’s corpse is likely still inside it, decaying. It’s just the AI of the suit using Prophets’ stored memories do do it’s best to be him, it genuinely believes it is him, it believes itself to be both of them, combined, once a human is completely bonded a nanosuit it’s nearly impossible to remove, and they’re no longer human, they become what’s called a “post human warrior”.
If it's in the game it's probably canon. I think it's more showing that at some point, either Psycho met Alcatraz or he is *aware* of who Alcatraz is because he was told about the events of Crysis 2. It's also probably showing that Psycho finds it kinda fucked up that, even if he didn't know Alcatraz personally, that Prophet basically stole his body and doesn't really show regret for that.
There are 2 different answers. From Crysis 3: He dies in the spire at the end of Crysis 2 and the suit uses Laurence Barnes 'personality file' to project a consciousness on the suit so it has a host. Alcatraz has a personality file as well but is 47% corrupted and beyond repair, this is probably because Alcatraz died before the suit could fully copy his personality. In the novel 'Crysis Legion': Alcatraz and Prophet mentally battle for control of Alcatraz's body. Alcatraz eventually loses this battle and his last words are "They called me Alcatraz. Remember me."
