I'm Tom, a detectorist from Dorset, England. Join me and Olive, my adventurous Labradoodle, as we metal detect around the beautiful Dorset countryside and beyond!
I started out with a Minelab Sovereign Elite, Minelab Explorer SE, Nokta Simplex+, and now the Nokta Legend. From small permissions to group rally's, in all weathers.
Hi bud, I guess it depends on the weather. If its sunny I'd head out early in the morning and try to beat the crowds 🤣 I've only done the beach a couple of times but tend to start at the old pier end and walk up towards the pavilion end and back again 👍 good luck
My guess is you'll find a lot of coins in dry sand lol.. Never found much in the wet, but last time I went down someone asked if I could look for their ring on the tide line. So, you never know. Beach has been very busy over the last few weeks, let me know how you get on 😉👍
I followed every single step on my gaming pc, but didn't work. Doesn't matter which usb port i tried. I couldnt hear that typical sound when you plug something in your usb ports. So i tried it on my wife's laptop and voila, updated my Legend in 2 minutes. One interesting hint on the laptop as well. It didn't work on usb 3.0 port, just on the good old ones.
Good to see you out again 👍 I live in woodland so hear (and see) Muntjac all of the time. Often you can hear a distant one and they bark back and forth for ages 🙂
Thanks for a really enjoyable video. Lovely William 3rd silver. When I was young my dad had racing pigeons and the rings were exactly like the one you found. From around the mid 1970’s they changed to coloured plastic rings but either of them would tell you the year. If it’s a Uk pigeon ring it would start with GB then the year and then the unique number. I would be really interested to know the year if it is a pigeon ring. I heard you mention 55 so could well be near on 70 years old. Cheers.
Thank you, that's really kind of you 🙂 I think the pigeon ring maybe foreign, was looking for the GB but couldn't see it. I'll do some more research and reply if I figure it out. Love finding them either way, would be great if it was an old one 😁👍
If your finding apparent window latches or stair rod holders it would be apparent one would be on the site of a house & a joke token would possibly be from a joker who would have lived in a long demolished house or possibly a house built to house a farm hand & Family. My great Grand Parent had a house built for him to house his Family & farm the land but no permission is available to detect the area.
Yeah you could be right there, I have found lots of old building bits & pieces. That's a great bit of family history you have, a real shame you cant get permission on there. Keep trying though, you never know! 🙂
Great hunt mate, i love finding lumps of bronze 😉. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes ❤ i was certainty out detecting at that time 😊. Have a great week mate 👍
Nice William 3 without dectecting! Glad you haven't turn likes off! Think Dan had a ekstra good Birthday! With a lovely Bronze Age Axe as ekstra Gift.😜🔝❤️
Thank you again for another enjoyable video. What a successful day's detecting with so many coins found. The 1864 Queen Victoria Shilling was an especially nice find.
Thanks mate, couldn't move for coin signals 🙂 next few weeks promises to be good. Been invited to a site with saxon/viking and then a weekender.. I'll do my best to get some decent footage and finds 👀
Nice Shilling 92% Silver 🤧 Sound orphul. Treacherous Weather. April was all time wet here in DK. Olive trying to ruin her Whiteness! Hilarious Dog 😜🔝❤️
Working my way backwards through your vids mate, was surprised with myself when I recognised the silver groat right away! Looks like the one Rich found down the fleet years ago! Very nice find bud!
@@TheDiggerofDorset I can't recall the monarch unfortunately and don't think I have any pictures of it, tho it wasn't in as good shape as yours! But yeah it was a really lucky find, he just thought he'd found tuppence in the wet sand.
Finding that ring and handing it over may get you more permissions. I know that's not why you did it, but good deeds tend to lead to good things following.
I would feel uncomfortable keeping it without attempting to find the owner. Funny thing is I got a parking ticket the day after I arranged to give it back to the owner! Karma works in mysterious way I guess 🤣
