I'm skating in Jeans most of the time, it's comfortable too and I have a lot of control in my skates, but that's just my opinion. To whoever is reading this : have a great day :)
I agree! Camel spins are so hard to learn! They are still my least consistent spin! They feel very fun though but it’s definitely not a comfortable feeling to have your body in a spiral position while spinning 😂
I will also add that it's harder to re-learn too. When I returned to skating after 10+ years, I could still do a sit and and all my upright spins. My camel spin? It was lost in space. It's just not a position that is similar to anything someone would do in normal daily life. Sit isn't either, but if you have good quad strength, you can still do it.

@@Eqvibes those would be fine! Leggings that go over the boot are mostly skater preference and sometimes to keep the laces from getting caught. As long as you feel comfortable and can bend your knees those will work perfectly fine
My leggings don't stretch that long, so I just put them over the top of my skate. I'm 5'8, but wear an average length in terms of pants (I'm all torso). I will admit that they, plus my skating socks, do a fantastic job of keeping my skates tied really well.
Not at all! I would say most adult students I've had in my classes are in their 30's and 40's. I definitely recommend checking out the Adults Skate Too account on Instagram or joining the adult skating Facebook group for some great inspiration and additional information about adult skating!
I mostly found the rocker profile to be quite flat and I have noticed they don't feel as sharp 2 weeks after getting them sharpened/edges get soft quickly. I've seen similar complaints about the CA Lites online. I think they are a great beginning blade but now with what I'm working on they feel like they are starting to hinder my progress. Especially the with intermediate twizzle pattern and a few items on novice
I need help finding new boots and blades too! I am a tween and have been using Jackson’s of Amazon bc they aren’t very expensive😅. It is kinda embarrassing bc they aren’t very good for me anymore bc whenever I get them, the blades suck and so do the boots (for me at least). I have creases in the boots and small rips where the creases are and it is so weird. I need to find a new brand that will be good for my level. I am at the level free skate 3 which is where I have to learn things like a loop jump, salchow toe loop, and a back spin with my leg crossed over ( minimum 3 rotations). I am not exactly sure what would be good for me at that level but I could use some help with finding and upgrade!😊
Hi! It sounds like your Jackson have broken down. This is completely normal because figure skates don't last forever. They last about 1-5 years depending on how much you skate. I would say if you enjoyed the Jacksons before the creasing started to happen I would look into the Jackson freestyle, Elles, or Evos. Those are great for the freestyle 1-6 levels but I would also see what your coach or skate shop thinks too!
@@journeybacktotheice thank you for the tips! I have had a few problem with the Jackson’s. The blades were not correctly sharpened when I got them and when I got them sharpened they were still a little weird so I am not really sure about that. I have had these skates for 2 years and I skat every Saturday (not that much over the summer). I am most likely going to try a new brand once I save up enough! ❤️
@@Thats_soDemure sounds good! I would check out Riedell, RiSport, SP-Teri, Or even Edeas! Each skate brand has a different feel and fits a specific foot shape. If you end up having to purchase blades separately I’ve always loved JW or MK!

Well, for me you don’t really need to buy EDEA skates because the pro skaters uses it, they are a lot more affordable ones that has the same quality or even better and also has the same support that can help you do things.
dont buy edea pianos if u just started skating they are stiffer yes but they are wayyy to stiff for you and you will not able to bend your knees or use the skate properly (This is u just started skating) Ask a skate tech for a skate fitting
ahh I know how frustrating blades can be! I got an identical pair of my ice skates for the summer and since the last time I bought them they have shortened the blade significantly, and the rocker was soo flat, I was skating like Bambi on ice!! just went back to my old skates and have been working with those, I really wish you luck with your competing and getting used to new blades come September! 🤍⛸️
we have a girl in my club that started skating at age 18, about 1,5-2 years ago. She's landed three of her doubles so far (has background in ballet but still). I love that we're breaking up the cliché that adults will never do this 🥰
Lol I remember when I used to skate after school and sometimes I forgot to bring a change of clothes so I just wore my jeans 😂 I just remember the waist band cutting into my stomach during sit spins
