The Portugese language sounds very good in music. I'm French but I listen exclusively to Cuban bolero, sala, rumba, changui etc but I always come back Cabo Verde artists like Sara Tavares who just left us, Beto Dias, Irmaos Verdades, Andrades, Neuza etc. I think Portugese rhythm, combined with African rhythm, are the backbone of all Carribeans & Latin American music considering the fact that many gringo musicians from Portugal, simply took their guitars, went to Cuba and never came back. I'm not sure but the Cuban guitar TRES, probably has Portugese or Spanish origin although the Cuban think they may have invented it but we know the guitar, has a European origin.
