I was told by friends and subscribers the previous AI voice didn't convey any emotions so we looked for a "better" one, I would do the narration myself, but I am -60db deaf with 8khz tinnitus in both ears and hiring voice actors for a small channel like this is something I cant afford, sad to see you go, but I couldn't even make videos before AI voices were a thing.
The story is good, but the narrator is flat. There's a little bit of variance for different characters some times, but over all there's no passion in the narration.
I've started using a different narrator in my new videos, I m - 60db deaf, so I hope the new narrator is better for most people as it's hard for me to tell nuances, glad you enjoyed the story 😊
Ive been asked this before by people wanting to narrate my stories, but I wouldn't know how to make it fair to you as the AI's are relatively cost efficient, while say on fiverr it wouldn't be something I can afford, it not be fair to expect you to narrate all my videos on-time etc and I think once I stop using an AI voice, I cant ever go back

I am a sucker for older naming conventions, Buster Prime, Omega Prime, atlas vale, astra zen, buck rodgers, list goes on, but I honestly didnt remember it was a transformer name xD
Did u go on vacation or something? I check this channel every day and its been 2 weeks since we had a new story! Pull up those boot straps and get us more content please! Consider doing a double release or a double length episode also! Other similar channels suck compared to this one....just need more content out there to bring more people in and I am sure it will grow fast.
Hey Light, I took a hiatus on the channel, when I started this one, I also started another, its called "the hfy records" and my original plan was to have a doorway between them called the Tri-verse theory, with certain stories weaving into each other, but due to time constraints (ive tried to write faster, like 1 story in 2 days and they are just not as good), even 1 per week for 2 channels is pushing it (as thats 1 in 3 days) so ive decided to prioritize the other channel and the crossover episodes will just be posted on there instead, its not "really" Hfy on that channel, its more of a blend between sci-fi, cosmic horror & hfy, but with a twist and all the stories follow One single overarching story Arc, ive also been taking better care of properly editting etc since its much easier to focus on 1 episode per week (I am only 1 person), ive tried to churn out more but the quality goes down a lot, theres 7 videos on it right now with number 8 the launching tonight and I also keep getting some really nasty comments on this channel, I think it has todo with how some of my stories end, but they have been very demotivating Ive had to rewrite some that were already posted here to better fit into the narrative arc the channel will follow (as its no longer 2 channels) so some stories will be retold like Atlas Vale, but until today all 8 are totally original and some are pretty brutal, especially the ones about the Wandering Dreadnought Anyways, I hope to see you there ^^

For every crappy critic comment there are 3 people that enjoy it. You stories are good and I had no idea that they were original content created by you and not some professionally written novel. Bottom line is people like to be scared and sci fi horror is the best way to deliver that dose. Again, keep motivated by people like me who actually appreciate what your are trying to do here and keep pumping those stories out. The scarier the better. Aliens? Check. Spaceships Check. Cosmic horror check. Ok we are all good here, now we just need the content to flow. Squeeze that mind of yours because the spice...I mean the cosmic horror must flow!
Yeah I gotcha, normally they don't affect me much, but these were not nice, anyways ive been working really hard onthe other channel, ive redone a few cosmic horror stories from this channel to the other to buy me some time during the summer, so youll recognize a couple for sure as I work out the entire "story arc" as its quite a lot more complex then creating stand alone stories, ill pick this channel back up when I am done setting everything up there, I advise you to start with the dreadnought stories as they are cosmic horror but with an 180 done to it ^^ and my first story on it could be called "human" a nudge to the movie "alien", i hope youll like them PS: thank you for the encouragements
I know we’re all here for horror but I hate “unbeatable”/no chance stories like this. Early on you just accept that there will only be a single survivor, MAYBE two if they’re lucky. I don’t like that for some reason. At least allow them a fighting chance. Jeez. 🤦♂️
I dont want to put spoilers here so if you dont want one, dont read further then this, what part of this story was unbeatable ? they got the artifact, got out and half of them survived...which is more then the usual in cosmic horror, how do you do horror when you cant kill anyone ? That would more make it a thriller no ?
Yeah the entity did right before their plan went into motion, they thought they defeated it but they only managed to get a part of it, the other part destroyed earth

I manage 2 channels, one cosmic horror this one and a HFY channel, my plan is to "link" both channels and have things happen on both of them through a dimensional link, ive been doing 2 videos a week to get a bit of content onto the channel, but I will drop back to 1 video a week now thats done (its still 2 videos a week for me) which as a single person is a lot of work, the other channel is called The HFY Records, which will be hfy with my own twist to it Like the Mechanoid in this universe (recurring storyline) are the Mechron in my other channels universe (recurring story arc channelwide), they are the same, but not exactly the same, so in short it will be 2 videos a week ^^
Hmm while it is welcome having something on the screen to look at during the narration. It would be nice if they related to the story. Vale prowling a deserted ship, not some random sci-fi'esk pictures
While the pictures just set the overal mood and arent supposed to follow the story too closely in my stand-alone stories, I do try to get them close to the related story, but since Vale is going to be recurring series on the channel I used a wider scope on it then just the story alone, ill keep it closer to the actual story if people prefer that, I am still figuring a lot out and it was like done as a sorts of introduction of his adventures

Gotcha, glad you enjoyed all the stories and ive got a better grasp/ideas now on how to handle series, though I make my videos beforehand so until these run out, I cant change anything anymore to the ones that are finished but I got some good ideas from peoples feedback for new ones
Sound good. Sci-Fi like this great. I am sure whatever you move on to next is good. Sci-if, Star Wars, Lovecraft stuff, Warhammer 40k (not regular Warhammer) all good for me. Oh Sci-Fi horror is awesome for sure like some of these stories. Probably hard to find good content though I bet.
Ill stick to the same same stuff on this channel, I cant write fantasy for some reason I do a single story and i am out of ideas, i started this channel because from this era there is very few material out there, glad to have you onboard (though do expect a cliffhanger here or there ^^) but ill try to do it better

It was a bit jarring to hear it end so abruptly. Still..I hope you will be publishing in the future. You show great talent as a writer!🙏🏼
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed them ^^ I am still learning though and ill keep an eye on the endings, however I do intentionally end them like I do in the videos as I try to write them without any closure or try to. I will keep it in mind and maybe extend it a bit, glad to have you onboard ^^
Thanks for the video. I have to say that it was difficult to get immersed in the events. The general feeling I got was victorious militaristic, which seriously clashed with the horror aspect. For example, most characters are nameless, something that works well for a military setting, where you try to minimise the impact of peoples death, but not for horror, where you want the opposite. Additionally, since most of the actions scenes tended to be pretty light on details, most fights could be described as "The humans fought with greater tactics and won". There is no description of the struggle or difficulty in dealing with alien machines. No sense of the humas being slowly whittled down as they progress. No doubts about their chances of success. We also have no idea how the humans are faring as they go along. There could be 1000 marines at the start and 999 at the end for all we know. As a consequence of all this, it never felt like the humans where never in any real danger. I would suggest to give more personality to the characters (not just 2 named chatacter and a blob of unnamed and replacable ones), and make their loss dramatic and impactful.
I have to admit that I did do it a bit 180 in this one, I was trying something new and I also had gotten some feedback on how bad my names are in this videos prequel (the hollow moon video) this one follows on that one (idk how to incorperate that into the titles, I am planning todo it with a Playlist for this) and as such this video is not a standalone but one in an arc and follows up on it as the humans prepare for their arrival at some point, I will however go back to how I normally name my characters, I should have discarded that feedback, but they say hindsight is 20/20 Maybe I should have referenced the other video but then it might kill this video as people click away into the older video, I dont know how to mitigate this on a relatively new channel and as such this being a followup story I couldnt cosmic end it like I ussually do, ill give it some more tought I appreciate the constructive feedback ^^

Or, refer back to the previous episode kind of like you did without giving too much away. Rough example: “In the two months that have passed since we discovered the Mechanoid Moonbase - the cold and ancient remnants of an Alien civilisation long since dead - every day has been an exercise in patience. As final preparations begun, we were finally able to set off to find the Arctic counterpart to the Alien moonbase.” Otherwise an excellent series!!

It isn’t just the story, but how the characters are presented, how they interact, and how the audience can relate; can they see themselves in the same way? Can they draw the picture in their mind? Are they in the story with the characters and feeling the same emotions?
hey, I dont know the first guy and ill check it out, I do know mr Ballen as I used to watch his earlier videos and I know what you mean but I think mr ballen is great at story telling, however he re-tells an already existing story, albeit he does need to write the script, he can go off actual story and then add his flair to it, because a lot of the things he says has too much details for something that happened sometimes say 80 years ago and for me, I write from scratch and its not easy to find a balance between quality and quantity as you only really have 2 to 5 days to get everything done
They learned a thing or 2 through the entire ordeal but maybe calling it psychic energy was a bit much, kinda more like their combined mental strength, still new to writing ^^

This small crew came upon the first evidence of extra terrestrial life, it hurt them. Killed a couple people. So they decide, as scientists, instead of leaving, to continue ie to stay and be hurt, fight it, then blow up all evidence of the entire civilization? Nice
The chronos was a mining vessel, their scientists are not of the "elite" type that you would find on an actual starship, more like a wish or temu version, but good enough to deal with the sciencie stuff for mining ore, like correct drilling angles or finding ore veins on astroids, also for the leaving part, they figured that it wouldnt matter the distance and as you heard in the ending even destroying it didnt actually stop it and soon the entire planet will be hearing the sirens song ill look over my script again, I might have not conveyed this well enough (ill keep you posted)
I'm always looking for a new narrator to listen to. This is the first video of yours that's come up on my feed and at first, I was excited to find a new voice. But when I read that a signal from Mars knocks out coms on Earth in the title, I'm like, "well shit, what's the point of listening then?" The literal title of this story needs a spoilers alert warning before someone reads it. I'm making a joke, but I'm also not. Personally, I'd rather you just number your stories, like how Karma to Burn gives their songs numbers rather than names, so we can enjoy the suspense of a slowly unraveling story.
the title doesnt really contain any spoilers, the signal & the blackout are cause & effect which the story then builds ontop of as they get send to investigate (like they always do, so I assumed I didnt need to add "we investigate" to the title) what it is, its explained in the first minute orso so its not really a spoiler, its more of a Hook & Line to get you to want to know what the Sinker is while not using the title like a hook, line and sinker all at once as the story starts right after the the title happens. How about this, listen to the story and let me know if you predicted the outcome based on the perceived spoiler you got at the start ? I dont know who Karma to Burn is though
@@CosmicHorrorChronicles The Humor is okay ,only in this one it was too much but maybe it was the Parasite fault that they unnaturally joked that much. And with common sense i meant that they should have turn around and left the Nebula, the moment the Hull got damaged. I mean they stayed inside the Nebula(that probably was made entirely from Parasites) while they tried to get rid of the Parasites. its like they were underwater.
Gotcha, I might have tried to conceal the true nature of the parasites a bit too much till the end, the captain got infected early so they wouldn't have left regardless, my fault ^^ as yes the entire nebula is mostly made out of these things so they got everywhere really fast after they took their samples, I should have explained this better
@@CosmicHorrorChronicles The Story reminds me of that one Stargate Episode ,where they traveled to a Water World and used a Submarine to travel through the Water only to get stuck and attacked by something unseen only to figure out it was the Water itself and the Water was alive and huge mass of sentient Organisms. They only survived because one Character got "possessed" by the Water so they can talk and let go only with the Promise to never return to that Planet, because the Stargate and Submarine was hurting/killing the living Water .
I think I remember that episode, turning on the gate killed them from the effect it had, I cant remember if it was the original or atlantis with Rodney trapped underwater, but the episode does ring a bell to me, I more combined the brain eating bugs from a sci fi movie, well not the first one but I think it was the second or third (when it got into b movie teritory, but I liked the idea) cant for the life of me remember the movies name (edit: starship troopers)
They were already being manipulated by the signal, besides they had to save earth from the blackout it was causing, so whatever they were thinking of doing the right thing was wrong from the start Edit: what I was trying to say, Myers was the lucky one as he was not compatible with it or the first test was too strong for the human vessel to take, the rest were already changed they just didnt know it
Glad you like the art and story, is the narrator too monotone or is the voice too low ? I am partially deaf but can still quite well hear what this narrator is saying, although I suppose it would sound different to someone with normal hearing, could you elaborate as ive had mixed reports so far, some people like it, others dont, ty for the feedback
Hi! @CosmicHorrorChronicles So myself I have attention related issues to the extent I'll fall asleep if something isnt keeping me engaged. I can't say it properly because I don't know enough about audio, but there's something about this tone that my brain doesn't like for a longer term reading if that makes sense. It's suited for something, but IMO not for story telling. Yeah hopefully this isn't coming across the wrong way, I wrote my comment because I was registering what I did hear as a good story, but I couldn't keep focused on this particular voice. Please keep up the great work and don't let one person's account influence you too much in any case. It was really awkward falling asleep during boring classes in school and it was involuntary on my part lol. It doesn't go over great during job training either. Sorry for the long comment. Cheers
Gotcha, I picked this voice because its supposed to be for narrative storytelling and Its one I would listen to I know not to take it the wrong way, you cant please all as everyone is different in what they like, though I can listen to people and see if I cant find a solution that "more" people would like. for me personally, I fall asleep even without listening in class though xD thank you for the feedback, this is way more helpful then someone posting "voice is ***" xD edit: once I get to 500 subs I should get a community tab, I think that be a good moment to make a poll with diffrent voices see which one is liked most
