I built a similar board, a Switchblade with an eBoosted enclosure and an identical drivetrain on 220 hangers instead. I'm also here wishing it was more flexy, with the fiberglass enclosure the board is rock solid stiff. That in combination with 100mm urethane makes it far too harsh, hitting a rock in a turn just bucks your feet out of the foot well and is too sketch for my riding style. If I were to do it again I would run wider hangers in combination with 6 inch or Hoyt 5 inch pneumatics. I'm curious to try yours though, that absolutely massive deck looks fun to surf on.
Gotta b wild droppin from AT to Pu all the time. F-,kin awesome. Looks great. And inspiring to get out on the urathanes again with this nice weather🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥
At first it was twitchy chocolate cheerio territory 🍩💨 . Not helped by having the trucks too loose 😁 I got some good feedback from @esk8unity about the setup and then it was just persistence to keep at it
I live in NM and the road vibration on polyurethane wheels just kills me here so I'm running Cloud Wheel Discovery's on my board. I like your deck it looks epic, very sleek.
Cloud wheels do a good job of reducing vibration for sure. The defiant setup will take the Hoyt 5” pneumatics with the Kegel pattern. I may well invest in a set of those for the fall/winter months .
I have been waiting for this one! I remember when this was a thought in your mind and then the sourcing of parts! It must be so savage to ride that in the big apple with shit road conditions. The board turned out beautifully man! The drive train caught my attention. How close it is to the wheel. Impressive.
Thanks man , took me a minute to get this out . Been too busy riding 😆 The wheels are pretty close , closer on the boas which was another reason to have bigger wheels.
Those tape stripes are fire af!🔥 I'm new to longboarding as well! I road a vert board for forever, I had no idea these longboards road so smooth! 🤯 Love seeing you carving on it, way slick.
great video buddy! u know i love ur board! ✅✅✅🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 “the potholes are like a third world country” hahahaahha that got my dyinn. ur also doin GREAT at transitioning from a big mountain board to a sleek thane board : especially with these roads we ride on ✅✅
Thanks mate . I’m over the moon with it . Inspired by the defiant board society’s ‘ Defiant One ‘ . Different enough for me to call it the ‘Deviant One ‘ 😝
*As a wise philsopher once said: "that is one hot motherfkr"* 🤙🏽⚡️🔥🔥⚡️🤙🏽 Gotta say, I prefer it with the white wheels on the chrome trucks 🤩 I can see why the board was lookin familiar, inspired by Real cars, not the modern "computer" cars we get these days 🔥 I used to love a lotta flex but prefer less now, a touch of flex, just feel I have more direct control / leverage over trucks. Low-ridin boards look so awesome 👌🏽 So the NY potholes are categorically worse than UK ones? 👀
Yeah man , not only potholes , the highways people here put 1” thick metal plates in the road . 100% agree on the white wheels . The boa’s are known for being slidey. I wanted some stability while getting used the thanes , hence the softer madwheelz.
@@Boardandbrazen 100mm Ingen from eBoardStuff are the best 100mm wheels for rough roads, bit softer than the Boas, your group ride neighbour esk8unity might have a set you could try.
@@scottharvey9764 thomas at Tomiboi is great . The Odashi that I bought has a 1.5” drop , the deathtoll is 45” Long with I think a 1” drop . He works with you and custom makes to your flex preferences and makes the enclosures .
Thoughts on "Linky 2.0: The World’s First Foldable Electric Longboard" currently on Kickstarter? (Google it) for around $1,000? Think this will be a good purchase? What do you think of specs/video ect? I like the foldable nature of it making it compact. On the fence to buy or not. This is their second release, they had 1.0 out like 4 years ago. The campaign ends in 3 days. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
In beginning of vid you mention roadie tires, which look wonderful btw, I noticed that the tire seat/contact patch seems wider than standard but u seem to hv standard mbs rockstar 2 hubs.?.? How did u achieve this tire widening!?! Did u 3d print a widening spacer to add in between the hub??? Tremendous job!
Do you have any recommendations for an all terrain long board, I’m just looking to causal use it every once in a while like during a hike or in the streets.
Any recommendations for a E long board. Id just use it to cruise along the beach or just around town. no serious commuting just for fun. Not looking to spend over 500. Just something budget friendly that will last a bit. im 5'10 175 lbs
I just bought my 1st ELongboard. The Wowgo 2smax. I love it, but I only get half the range as advertised. I’m a heavier rider at 253lbs and I get just shy of 7 miles.. I commute to work on the weekends with this and about half my trip is up hills. 10-15% grade. But it drains my battery. I’m usually down to 50% by the time i get half way and just shy of making it to work.. I love the board overall, the torque is great for me and I get relatively good speed for being 253lbs.. but I really need something with a longer range or extended battery life. Anyone have any ideas if I could upgrade the battery or a better board I should look into that would be more fit for me?
In theory you could upgrade the battery and enclosure . I think your board is a 12s2p , you could upgrade to a 12s4p etc . But for the price of a battery and the aggravation . It’s probably worth a board with better range . The guys I ride with who have the Mboard endurance for example , regularly get 30 miles .
@@Boardandbrazen I’m thinking about an upgraded board with range, but there hasn’t been very much options when it comes to HUB motors. Most are belt driven and noisy lol. I was looking at the Backfire G5S. Buts it’s so hard to know without trying the boards out for my circumstances.
I actually don’t know anyone who rides them and have never seen one in the ‘wild’ . I’ve also been intrigued by them , but not taken the plunge and bought.
I'm 200# 6 f 1 where I live have medium hill the road is not flat but it has its rough roads I live near a beach and I would like to use it to get to work by car it ten 15 minutes. My price range is not high but it the between I want some that has good battery and all terrain. I don't won't to buy one I'm not knowing or get the wrong one. Thanks and advanced
I like that it’s more affordable then the 2s max & 3E. I have small feet so I wonder will it be hard to carve since it’s a wider deck. The lights are definitely a plus 🔥
This is where it can bit a tasty 😁. Check out @spirituallygood and @esk8unity on instagram . Those guys carve up the streets like it’s powder . There are some purist that would argue that a summer board is the closest experience to snowboarding . But it’s not very practical for general riding . There is also the opportunity to ride boards with bindings to replicate the edge to edge control but , they tend to be Mountainboard style and generally don’t give the carve without very specific truck setups . Or for the crazies out there , electric surf skate setups 😅 they look like bedlam and I have not seen one in the flesh . I would think a longboard with a carvy setup would work great personally. See if a local Esk8 group of rider will let you try theirs out 🏂
@@Boardandbrazen what would you suggest as a carvy longboard setup for under $1000, is a dkp truck something i should be looking for? like your video said, there are so many options out there i dont know what is what. I was thinking maybe an all terrain longboard? is that needed for bumpy side walks? prob will be mainly riding it on a track or a short trip to the grocery store on a sidewalk. Thank you for your in depth response !
@@ShrimpCracka So here are a few options , but honestly I think you need to try where you can and find your own preferences but here are some hot reviewed options. Electric skateboard urethane wheels will handle bumps , cracks and curb drops. If you want trail too , you really need pneumatic or rubber composite . All the board below are those options not urethane (purely because you mentioned track) . Most one these below have a urethane option if you prefer skate wheels 1. over budget = Mboards Interstellar 2 with Nova Tyres a hell of deck and set up for $1600 2. Acedeck Nomad N1 with belt drive and pneumatic tyres around $999 3. Meepo Hurricane bamboo currently $999 (I owned one and loved it , great ride ) DKP is very carvy , lower stability at speed. TKP is stable . TKP is really a hybrid . As a wise man once told me , DKP has a capped stability where as TKP and RKP can be loosened for more carve
Which electric skateboard would you recommend for getting around my college campus? Considering I'm 6'3" and weigh about 240lbs (not counting backpack and such). I'm trying to look for something somewhat lightweight (though I understand this might be a bit difficult given my size), relatively quiet, able to brake quickly to avoid any accidents, and can handle turns smoothly without needing too much space. Range isn't a huge deal for me, as long as it can go more than 10 miles. I was looking into the meepo Envy but I saw a reddit post where people recommended the Tynee Mini 3 instead of the Envy but I'm not sure if it'll hold my weight.
Hey , thanks for checking in . The tynee ultra has had great reviews . The mini boards aren’t awful for us bigger guys, they are pretty good fun. Way less stable than a longboard and demand a bit more flexibility in the hips (in my opinion) . I’ve been enjoying a Veymax cejour over the last few weeks the extended range board would very likely fit what you are looking for. . The Meepos are solid boards , I’ve had a Hurricane a mini 2er and a V5 with an er battery . . For portability longboards with handles are unrivaled . Mini boards are okay but can be awkward to carry . The trucks are thick and the battery/esc enclosures are close together . Try and get a test ride if you can and see what you enjoy 👍
Thank you very much for your time. You have presented us with a complete and interesting review of Veymax Cejour. We have given it the mission of an entry-level electric skateboard, and we hope it can become a product that everyone can own, from the battery life to the details of taillights and bash guard. Cejour is a real entry-level electric skateboard, that will make every owner feel safe and satisfied, I hope you can know more about our Veymax and other products, I wish you a happy skateboarding, Veymax will continue to provide you with good products and services!
I am using very low cost Mountainboard gloves ( I’m not a good example of safety gear😅) . These are Rock Bros . A lot of the riders I know who use gloves recommend flatland gloves for Esk8 . I have some armored gloves that are Apex boards branded (not shown in this video)
Great callout Jeff ! Keep an eye on PEV_Nyc on Facebook , instagram and telegram. Those guys regularly organize runs. They have a week Thursday night ride out in NyC . They’re a good crew , very welcoming
Hey jamie is there anywhere i can go to contact you regarding advice and/or professional input. You seem knowledgeable but the questions i have may not be abe to be easily answered in a youtube comment section
