L was a master manipulator right from the start. Tricking Light into helping with the investigation, when Light's deductive reasoning's are what confirmed to L that he was Kira after he already narrowed it down to a highschool student and he was the only student ray pember was investigating, on top of L knowing for Kira to not be caught thus far he must be intelligent and extremely elusive, highest ranking student in the country and son of a detective with history of helping cases. L NEVER saw Light as a friend, it was always an act. L would have watched Lights execution on a small tv screen while eating a strawberry cake, then he would ask Watari what his next case was. The only thing stopping L from convicting Light was the fake death note rule, everything else fell into place bar that.
L is so intelligent he told Light that if he shows his deductive skills are as good as he suspects them to be, that he can work on the case with him, and at the same time can be completely dismissed of all suspicion that he’s Kira. That’s completely paradoxical. Kira’s deductive skills would of course be pristine. It’s the only way that he’d be able to predict any traps coming his way & the reason he hasn’t been caught. I’m not sure if Light saw that considering he did make a show of his intellect. But maybe it’s because if L see’s him holding back, it’d increase his suspicion even more-so. More than if he didn’t hold back. He really didn’t have a way out. All it did for L was show him what direction he needed to take in order to confirm that Light was in fact Kira. I think he said that to also give him the opportunity to run tests on him, by creating a reason for him to be around L.
Is it just me or does the fact Near wears a mask of L's face seem to imply he wants to remind Light that L was a huge component in his capture? Near grins as soon as he takes the mask off - elated at the fact that he was correct AND that Light clearly recognized L's face and was upset by it. Near knows and acknowledges that he didn't solve the case alone, but he did craft the perfect trap to put Kira to bed forever.
Soichiro Yagami: Don't mess around now this is serious. Me: He is just trying to help, but I see your point. Aizhawa: DON'T MESS AROUND NOW THIS IS SERIOUS!!! 😡 Me: Gosh, man, take it easy. Light and L: Matsuda, you idiot. Why can't you do anything right at all? Me: That was *so* rude. He does his best. Have you thought about that the reason for him to act like that is because you always see the worst in him?
What I imagine it would be like to be Matsuda's girlfriend when I'm sad: Matsuda: Hello. What is it? Me: My dog is dead. Matsuda: I'm *so* sorry. Is there anything I can do to cheer you up? Me: Well, I would like you to stay with me and hold me. Matsuda: Of course I can. (*hugs me until I tell him it's enough*) Me: Thank you for always being there for me.
0:34 If I was there, I'd say something like: Don't listen to him. I actually have some trouble doing my task. If you want you may help me. Then, I'd angrily turn to L saying something like: And I won't ask for your permission.
Right? That's actually my favorite part of that scene, just because it's so funny and random. I also hope Mogi didn't forget it was there, lol. Thanks for watching!
I guess Soichiro's and Aizhawa's behavior towards him is somehow understandable. As much as I enjoy Matsuda's character, I can imagine it's annoying that someone just jokes around when you're working on such a serious case. However, Light's and L's behavior towards him is horrible. They act like he is a total loser who can't do anything right. I just wanna hit them when they treat him like that.
I can undetatand that. And with both Soichiro and Aizawa, even though they get annoyed with Matsuda sometimes, it's clear that they still care about him. I agree with you though about the way Light and L treat him. They're the only ones that call him an idiot and they act like he's completely useless. L even more so, imo. I hate how disrespectful he is toward Matsuda. Especially when he tells Matsuda to get him coffee, when all Matsu wanted to do was help. And when he slaps Matsuda's hand...I want to reach through my screen and slap L right back.
10:50 When the commercial was on, it's like L tried to imitate it. When Misa licked her lip, he licked his. Also, when Misa gently bit off a flower petal, L tried it with the bannana peel and failed. (*>∀<*)
He said it himself. Without mello, he wouldn’t have been able to defeat Kira and L was his successor so his knowledge comes from L. L is smarter, he just didn’t have proof.
I also think L couldn't of caught Light by himself. He enjoyed playing with Light too much and missed every point he had to end the ramage. Near was out for blood for day one of hearing about L's death
