I also remember seeing this movie as a young girl on tv. I am sending it to my lovely grandaughter and her family who are embarking on a big trip around australia. I hope this is a bag of laughs for them
As a 8 year old, I watched this movie in a theater in 1954 & loved, loved, loved it! Seeing Lucy & Desi, in color & on a big screen was like getting an early Christmas present! Seeing it now, after 70 years, shows that Desi Arnaz was no "2nd banana" to Lucy, but was a 'genius' as a comedian & actor, himself! These two professionals got early, sit-com television ratings, that no one else could ever attain, to this day!
I'm sure someone else mentioned this previously in the comments section (might've even been me!) but I can't resist: This is a long, long trailer for _The Long, Long Trailer_ 😆 Seriously, it's such a fun comfort-food classic film, in super Technicolor. I love when Marjorie Main mentions that she gave the new bride a sleeping pill! Movies like this are great ... some other gems include: The Trouble with Angels The Ghost and Mr. Chicken Make Mine Mink It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World The Parent Trap Some Like it Hot The Patsy The Ladykillers Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein The Secret Life of Walter Mitty The Thrill of it All
This movie The Long,Long Trailer is my all time favorite. I seen it once in my life and that's all it took for me to call it my favorite😁👍🏼🙂 one day going to buy this movie and watch it as many times as I want to 😃
My dad used to travel around the country in A 38 foot Monaco dynasty motorhome with a decent size trailer so when he and my mom watched this movie later they had to stop part way through because it was giving them too much anxiety. Too close to home I guess.😂
For all of us that grew up in the 50's, we all love this movie. I was 8 years old and loved this film. I've seen it at least once a year ever since ! This will be funny another 70 years from now ! We all loved Lucy & Desi ! 💙
I saw it when it first came out in 1954. I was almost 6 years old. The old Studio City Cinema is now a book store, but that building holds many memories and this is one of my favorites.

I have this L & D film & Forever Darling (with James Mason) on DVD...as a dyed in the wool Lucy & Desi fan I still watch them both often & enjoy their sweet taste of innocence now long lost....❤️
Forever Darling (they considered a flop but I considered it lots of fun too. Her 1968 film with Henry Fonda Yours Mine Ours also got wonderful reviews and made a lot of $.
*I used to LOVE trailers and M/H's 'way back when'* *But expenses/my age/and what I see of 'RV-ing' now scare the crap outta' me!* _____________ *THE MONEY involved locks me out...but I still have my memories so that's okay, back in the 60's and '70's I had some really good times in a '58 'Comet' TT* ( *I have a paid-for house on the Ohio River w/all the 'mod cons' and the worst crime where I'm at is "The hot-dogs got burnt!"* ) *Plus I live right on top of a State Park w/all the amenities so I have no right to complain about anything, and likely live better than 98% of all the people that have ever lived or now for that matter* *ps...I was born the same year this move came-out!*
It's interesting that cars back then were so robust that they could pull a trailer of that size. Today you would need at least a 3/4 ton p/u to tow that.
