Awesome. What is your furry friend’s name? So you had no trouble going alone? I noticed a few people coming down while you were starting up. I assume they descended from the summit.
Mt Washington was your FIRST winter summit attempt?? Wow lol. Id def reccomend getting some other peaks under your belt first in winter before Washington.
great, beyond words. they want to push the message that only TOGETHER we can stand against climate catastrophe. read nims book. only together we can stop the WW III world threatening usa-russian war using ucraine as a pawn.
I was stationed in Idar-Oberstein about 30 years ago, I never hiked in the Palatinate but a friend & I sure did a lot in the I-O & Baumholder areas. Took a fun 2-day canoe trip down the Saar from Saarbrücken to Konz, too.
Thanks for the video. Very interesting and help me a lot for my own preparation. 3 questions : What is the easiest way ? Tuckerman's Ravine (East) or Amoomosac Ravine (West) ? How much time to get to the summit, average? Is there potentially ice climbing parts ? Thanks for sharing man!
Nice, thanks for your video! With its huge amount of trails, the black forest is indeed a little hikers’ paradise. I wish you all the best!
Great Video Bernard! I was going to take the 11 hour hike, but now you’ve made me want to do it through the Via Feretta Route. Going to do this route in June. Is the route well planned out? I’ve been doing a lot of map reading, and there’s a lot of starting points. Where was the start if your route, near the Olympic Jump?
Is there snow there in August?? we are hoping to climb by this route and get the cable car back down. Do you know if it is possible to hire out via ferrate sets in the locality? Thanks so much for your video its really informative.
Hey there, glad you liked it! I think it’s unlikely to find any relevant snow there in August, but you never know… the glacier will be there of course, so keep that in mind for equipment purposes. As far as I know there are no places to hire any sort of equipment on the trailhead or anywhere throughout the path. In the city you can find equipment stores that sell and maybe rent it. Have fun there and keep safe!
@@outdoorworld5522 perfect worried about the glacial gap that you mentioned! Have found a hire place.... which is a few mins from our accommodation. thanks so much
I love hiking in Germany! There is a paragliding location I did a quick visit to in one of my videos, but it was too windy that day. I will make another one when the weather is better. Germany and the Hessen region are my favorite place to hike!
@@jenlya3783 he is the GOAT for sure. And no, he did 14 peaks in 2019 with O2 and then K2 in winter (attempted 45 times unsuccessfully before his attempt and success) in 2020 without O2
Absolutely incredible what they have accomplished and continue to press forward. Grateful for the inspiration they provide me as I'm trying to accomplish similar things.
