In the way I’m doing the fx pedals I has to be thru because the in and out are in the same slots. But if you have a chain of fx you normally use, you can totally set it up in a normalled or half-normalled config with no issues.
Since I ended up on your video, searching an Eurorack module to make some “808s” bassdrum/basses for Trap Music, to be sampled and then played on an MPC (I’m searching also, some modules for Snare, Cap, Hi Hats and Cowbells) so that I can CRAFT some tailor maded drums, for my beats. You will suggest me this one for the 808s or something else? (I had JoMoX Modbase back in my Eurorack days, but I made some techno with it…another idea could be, SSF UltraKick, Befaco Kickall, or I don’t know…plenty of Bassdrum modules out there…I’m going crazy trying to find the right module whitout having my hands on it)
Of the modules you listed, I only own the Befaco Kickall. If you’re looking for 808s then the Mandrake is the better of those two. I have all of Tiptop’s 808 modules. They are very good, but you don’t get much sound “sculpting” other than pitch and decay mostly.
Hi very helpful video -quick question before I buy a I-connectivity device . I only have Synthstrom deluge and access virus and old Roland jv1010 module both virus and jv1010 are 16 part multi timbral I want to use deluge to sequence Access virus and jv1010 would it be possible to use the ivonnectivity to give me for example 8 parts virus and 8 parts Roland jv1010 on my deluges 16 midi channels rather than the current choice I have of either all 16 virus or all 16 being Roland jv1010 - hope this makes sense
Yes that would be possible. One way to do it would be to filter out the channels you don’t want to use. So for example the Virus could use 1-8 and filter out 9-16. Then the JV could do the opposite. Then you could sequence on the Deluge accordingly.
After watching all the comparison videos I could, it seems as if moog were able to match most of the modulation and filter effects but the drive is completely different. I would probably drive the signal with a completely different plugin to get close. Little radiator or the new ChromaGlow in logic would have a better drive sound. I’ll check back when I’ve tried it but obviously the original units drive circuit has interplay with the sound that would be lacking in this example. Keep the originals of course. They will go up in price unless moog do an amazing reissue. 😊
@@thesolutionband that’s one thing I really like about them. But also heard great things about the Neumann kh120ii and a little cheaper. But the Adam’s definitely look sexier
I have not tested them. I don’t have anywhere here that carries them unfortunately. I went with the A77h mostly because the form factor fit my room better.
@@thesolutionband I’m the reverse! I’ve tested the a8h and not the a77h haven’t found them in LA to test.. interested in them because the S3h are some of the best speakers I’ve heard ever hopefully these come close to that
As a longtime owner of the hardware Moogerfoogers, the software is close… but you’re never going to get the same color you get as you do when you overdrive the hardware.
Hi mate. With the MioXL can I have multiple sequencers controlling my synths? Currently have DAW, Hapax, SL, even an Atari ST. Depending on mood I want to use a different sequencer. Would the MioXL allow for this?
Yeah it can do that for sure. You could route them all to the synths at the same time which would be fine as long as they aren’t sending clock or something at the same time. The other option would be to have different presets on the MioXL for each sequencer.
@@thesolutionband Thanks mate that's helpful. I looked up the presets in the manual after you mentioned. Would make things much easier for me I wouldn't have thought of even using the presents tbh 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi again. Would I be able to have multiple sequencers at the same time? Say Ableton AND the Hapax? I dont see why not but I cannot work out how the two separate networks would sync? EG Ableton controls sampler 1 Hapax controls keyboard 1-5 Great, but how would the Hapax get clock from Ableton if there separate?
Yeah you could do that. You would just have to be careful not to cross up things that aren’t supposed to. You would need one master clock source. So you could connect an output from Ableton to Hapax and have Ableton be the master for example. This could be done easily if you connected the Hapax via usb to the computer or Mio.
@@thesolutionband hi and thanks again Yes I'd be using usb midi as often as possible to save the din connections for heat that needs it. I've decided on the smaller mio (5x5 I think) so need to max it all out port wise.
Love you build ! And musics choices I made one too if you are passionate about the case ;) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Hg7HZ28dwE.htmlsi=W56Gat7y2VbTg6cJ😊
Everyone with multiple pieces of gear should check out ‘The Midronome’. I use it with my Multiple Mios routing all the clocks of my gear through the Midronome. This has been a game changer for me. The creator/ inventor is a really great guy also and is always making improvements.
Very impressive setup you have there. I just got a patch bay yesterday just for my guitar pedals in a home studio. Most of my pedals are stereo except for one (Chase Bliss Pre Amp MK2) others are stereo but one has a TRS input and a right and left out, another has left and right in and out. Then I have a couple Chase Bliss pedals (Mood MK2, Habit) that just have TRS in and out. I was hoping to get some advice on what type of cables to run from the pedals and into the patch bay. For instance the Hologram Microcosm has a TRS in and left and right out. Should I break the TRS input with an insert cable so I have a left and right going in? Also the Pre Amp MK2, should I just use a TRS cable in and out or do I use a TS cable. Thanks in advance and thank you for the tour of your studio.
Thanks for watching. I have that problem too. The L/R on a TRS cable are tempting to put in the patchbay as is. And you can do that with a trs patchbay. I tend to break things out into separate L/R in the patchbay for consistency sake. So for instance, if I were to put a Chase Bliss stereo pedal in the patchbay I would probably use an insert cable to split it into left and right.
This is a very helpful video. Thanks! Does each Mio port provide 16 unique MIDI channels to individual devices or are you limited to 16 total MIDI channels? Example: is it possible to have two devices set to MIDI channel 4 without conflicting as long as they are on different Mio ports?
Yes each port is 16 channels unique to that port. So you can use channel 4, for example. more than once as long as those ports don’t interact with each other. Thanks for watching!
I really like those stands - seen them for the first time. However, I did not find any information with regard to the ADJ-1 only ADJ-2... so, are the ADJ-2 the bigger/stronger ones? Here in Germany, I did not see any offer for ADJ-1 at all, only the ADJ-2. Any thoughts?
This is fantastic, thanks much! Are you running dry recording tracks out of your DAW to the patchbay as an effects send/loop? If so, would love to see it or get any tips. Thanks again, great setup
Thanks for watching. Yes, sometimes I use the patchbays and pedals as an effects loop with my DAW and other times I’ll record with the effect on the synth or whatnot. It just depends on what I’m doing. Thanks for the idea for a future video.
I really like those Sound Anchor stands. Tough price to swallow, but nice. I have the previous A77Xs and I'm using the K&M 26720 monitor stands with an 8" x 9.5" (205 x 245 mm) top plate. K&M has a newer version... the K&M 26722 with a wider top plate 11" x 12.5" (280 x 320 mm).
Can i ask roughly how much money in usd do you have in that room. I have a guess but id rather have you say. You gotta have an idea. Im retired 68 year old man, just started building my studio to more than just logic an a audio interface. Ill never be able to afford 1/4 of what you have. Im interested in patch bays. Do they sort of work like a stage snake? Or more. I just won a brand new Tascam model 12 recorder/controller/mixer for 240 bucks. Guy thought it was broken and sold it thst way. Otherwise hey go for around 600. I played in bands in the 60s through 80s then again from 20005 to 2015. In my early years i ha my black faced dual showman with mu les paul gold top, and a cry baby wah wah, that was my rig for years. I wish i had all this when it was the 60s and 70s,
I have a video that helps explain patchbays! In short, they are different than a snake. A patchbay would make routing audio/effects way easier for your new Tascam!
Incredible and impeccable setup. This is where having OCD is a very good trait. You must have all of this written out for lack of confusion? Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if you've memorized your patchbay setup.
i'm looking into ADJ-1 vs ADJ-2 for some ATC 25As.. they are a bit heavier and 'deeper' than the A77s... do you have any sense as to whether i could get away with ADJ-1? according to sound anchor's site i should technically go with the ADJ-2 but i'm wondering how much of a difference that will make
So I bought the Argosy Speaker Stand 420xi w/ IsoAcoustics instead because my supplier didn't have stock for another 3 months... They are awesome! (and half the price)
I believe the es-5 is output only, So no. But if the es-9 has an adat input, you could get something to add 8 inputs like the Behringer ADA8200. I believe Presonus makes one that fits the bill too. Thanks.
Great video. Nice to see a bigger studio setup with multiple mios and everything running with a DAW or without. Works great in multiple room studios as well. You did a great job explaining the routing side of things. I was hoping for a little DAWless jam with the pyramid. Maybe next video?
They are the Standtastic Tier Kits. Basically to add tiers to a Standtastic stand, but fits the unistrut perfectly. Here’s a link: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/100TK--standtastic-100tk-tier-kit-for-standtastic-stands-and-wall-mounts
Ya prolly need someone to live in that room full time for security n shit....lotta valuable stuff n all....I guess I'll do it. Oh and I forgot, my qualifications are: Nobody has ever seen me and Batman in the same room...just sayin.
The calibration is actually stored in the monitor. So in my case that’s my default setup, so I can just turn them on and go. If I want to run a different calibration I can select it on the back of the speaker or in the A Control software. So in other words, when I’m using my computer for audio, SoundID is not even open most of the time.
@@thesolutionband thanks. I have been wishing for a cost efficient way to run my sound Id without the need to use it in standalone or plugin version. I’m ordering a pair now
Comparisons seem a bit pointless unless they're in some sort of context. I dont really care if they sound the same as long as the end result is good. I found the VST 101 demo quite unpleasant to listen to though. Sold my 101 recently and would like to replace it at some point, kinda regretting it now. Would be great if the software could generate similar feels but doesn't seem like it can.
It worth to run all the calibrations processes after the board was installed. Mine had issues with the pitch bender (sounded like the unit was out of tune) after I installed the expansion board. A fresh calibration resolved it.
