It's so funny how immediately Ignis with Sonico assist turns the entire match into a circus. It just becomes king of the hill, but one of the players can set a rocket trap on the point.
Nobody commented in nearly 10 years ? Lemme fix that I hate Vakiha btw. But I also have no clue what makes each akiha different tbh. There's like 9 akiha and to me their all annoying zoners 😂
As much as I'd like to say yes, time is not on my side, and FGs are on the low end priority of games to play these days. I'll probably play CC on a whim, but I'm mostly competitively drained, I think. haha.
I recently decided to take a small break from labbing in UNICL-R to go back to UNIEL and see how much my main man Seth has changed over the years in retrospect. I did not expect him to be this barebones compared to future entries. Him not having his hit-grab special and dashing aerial strike is understandable enough since they feel like purposeful extensions to his core moveset to give him extra combo conversion flexibility and movement options respectively, but he doesn't even have his fastfall follow-up, which I would consider to be absolutely essential to his gameplan. I still managed to cook up a decent enough combo that would allow me to place an orb mid-combo that would then hit the enemy by the combo's natural end to extend it like you would in recent games, but the dynamic movement both in and out of combos that makes Seth so fun is just not quite there yet. The experience really put into perspective just how significant the changes between versions truly were aside from the obvious new character additions, especially since the lack of brand new mechanics between versions can make the upgrades seem somewhat underwhelming until you delve a little deeper.
This is a wonderful retrospective of melty and evo through your eyes. Experiencing this live in the evo crowd and seeing you get so far there was amazing to see in person, and I'm glad I got to experience that with you. Also, cheering you on as I watched the melty tournaments at final round and nec was pretty neat too. This also reminded me of some memories of going to several melty tournaments and west toasts too, because you got me to play that competitively. Good times. 🙂
I remember we got there early in the morning to Vegas. Hotel was not available for check in, we hadn't sleep. I remember us falling asleep in line for early badges.
I forget if it was 2010, but it was definitely at least one of those yearly trips to Evo we went. It was a rough lesson to learn that hotels don't start check in til 3p. There is also very little to do in the Vegas mornings, and without refuge, it is just suffering til you get a room.
The EFZ Discord has what you need, including the game, resources, and even players of different skills. I put their invite link in the description if you're interested. The same peeps in the Discord also have a YT channel dedicated to EFZ. @eternalfighterzero1509 is the channel. Hope this helps!
Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the USS Enterprise. Its 5 year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before! - James Tiberius Kirk.
Self analysis is fun. Other things i noticed after the fact... 3:20 - I kind of just wandered aimlessly too long cuz I was panicking too hard. 7:20 - I missed the knocked callout here. It might of been possible to take the battle earlier during the Bangalore ult. 11:09 - I said it was around 400 meters from an earlier shot. Silly me for aiming for a 470 meter. Oh well.
I hope those old re-releases have rollback. Then again, there's already Fightcade out there so maybe these will meet the same fate as MBAACC on Steam: Only used in offline tournaments.
