Can we replace the cutting knife? Mine recently doesn't cut the tape effectively and it takes some effort from me. I wonder if we could replace that small knife.
Dymo, you guys need to discontinue the 5th gen and keep making the 4th Gen until you figure out your mess. No one wants to be forced to use your labels.
It's not good for clinical labs because they can't use their own labels to meet state standards they have to use yours. The 5th generation printers suck get rid of them.
And now, with the function that assigns a number to the QR code, for example, 1001, I can print 500 of them. Each time, the QR code increments, counting up to 1002, 1003, and so on.
@dymo I have used a Brother label printer for years with no issues, and it's still going strong. I wanted a parcel label printer. I bought the 5XL (still sealed via eBay) for an excellent price, thinking I was making an investment (as a rival brand); having had the Letratag for over 20 years with no issues, I couldn't go wrong... or could I? Well, that was proven to be incorrect. As others have commented, users are forced to use in USB mode as the LAN either does not connect or drops within two seconds of activating the 5XL, if you want to use it! Your software initially appeared bare, yet it appears and disappears when loading using Windows 11 (23H2) (fully updated). I uninstalled and cleared files, temp files, reg entries, and the works. Reinstalled and.. precisely the same. Would I recommend @dymo? No, definitely not now. So, if anyone is reading this, avoid buying the current version of the 5XL unless @dymo change their stance. Monopolising and not declaring this is very underhanded. If you want to use aftermarket labels to reduce your costs, forget it with the 5XL. I believe @dymo rolls have a strip sensor strip attached to the roll core that the unit detects so that the 5XL can use only their brand labels.
damn.... now we are using the software itself and my god, never ever have I seen software this bad... I have a family member that is aged 8 and he builds software that has better functionality then your Dymo bloatware.... If I built stuff like this I wouldn't even be able to address this because I would have commited sepuku if this was my software! Or is that the reason why we are still responding to this 'software', in that case: you did something right finally!

Hi there, I've seen a lot of problems with DYMO Labelwriter software, but you people have degenerated into dunces... What is wrong with you? disabling the import function in the latest versions, not getting ready for chromeOS. Everything you people do makes me wonder if you people have a death wish for your company... Not even microsoft does stupid things like this... I have about 150 secretaries and they all have problems these days with hardware and software you build... I have never ever seen a hardware developer with this much stupidity as a policy. Don't you people have a professional honour? If you do, find it in the sewers!

What happend to this feauture? On multiple computers we can only now import UDL files, and not Excel/csv files anymore. Man you are going more backwards

wow comments aren't disabled on this video? I'm surprised considering how much hate Dymo will get for this proprietary printer. I'm going to get rid of all mine for something else. after 20 years of loving them, the 550 is such a piece of junk. Check out other youtube videos before buying one.
