Hi there, Thanks for your comment and we do understand that it would be great to provide someone who is completely bald a full of hair but unfortunately this won't be possible. Hair transplant is medical procedure not a witchcraft and certainly not a marketing gimmick. Its mechanics are very easy to understand. The doctor removed healthy/strong hair follicles from one location and puts them in the bald areas. For this surgery to work the person MUST have enough hairs to be removed to cover the bald areas. As you might predict the bigger the bald area is the more hairs needs to be removed. In severe baldness cases the area is very big 60%+ head surface and the supply of the strong hair follicles are limited. For this reason the success of a hair transplant has a negative relationship with the level of baldness.

Hi there, Thanks for watching our video and for your question. Unfortunately hair transplant is a good option only for male pattern baldness (Androgenic alopecia). Other types of alopecia are caused by completely different reasons hence it is NOT advised to have a transplant before addressing those reasons. The best option is to have a consultation with dermatologist and to get his/her approval for the suitability for a hair transplant surgery.
I got a question. See since I was in middle school I didnt have much hair and my hair was very thin and fragile. As time flew by I kept losing my hair. I'm now 17 and still balding upfront my forehead to the middle. Its genetic from my dad. My parents bought be an organic shampoo to fix but Its not working for me. I will say that there was one time when I was 15 or 16 when I went to go dye my hair at a salon. I wanting white but it kept giving me blonde. Eventually I was stuck with it, I had my hair cut short first and then dyed. They dyed it like 3 times and my head was buring like heck. But overtime my hair grow soo much! I've never seen it grow long before. But my parents friends said it's not good for my hair since its chemicals and damages my hair. So after that I never dyed it. I cut my hair because it was to long and I went my to a normal short hair cut. My hair grew back but it wasnt as long as before when I dyed it. Does chemicals help my hair grow? Or do I stick with the organic shampoo.
Organic shampoo and chemicals are pretty much bullshit, especially the “organic” part of your shampoo, topical ointment might work but the most effective treatment is to probably get an FUE surgery and replace the lost hair. otherwise your screwed lol.

In most cases the answer is "No, you won't lose those hair" but it is not 100%. The transplanted hair is taken from donor area which is resistant to DHT, main reason for hair loss. Having said that in some very rare cases even the hair taken from donor region is lost.

Hi Stetson, Thanks for your comment. It was us who uploaded Ian's video on our channel, so I doubt Ian would see your questions. He had FUE. Normally we request our patients to share their videos 12-15 months after the surgery.
No, it doesn't grow back, because there are no hair roots left. But the back area of the head has so many hairs, that you can't see a difference. You could remove approximately 25% of the hair from the back of your head, without a noticable thinning.
Thanks for your question and sorry about the late reply. The hairs harvested from back do NOT grow back. This is the very reason why there is only limited number of grafts available to be harvested. This is also the reason why "UNLIMITED grafts" promises do not make sense. The hairs do not grow back since entire hair follicle is taken out. You can think of it that you remove a tree with all of its roots and replant somewhere else.
As Finasteride majorly works on the native hairs, some of the patients who were still holding a good amount of native hairs have used Finasteride, but not all of them in the photos.

Very good and common question. Hair follicles are little organs. And as you know organ transplant is a complicated matter where recipient's body might reject the new organ. In hair transplant surgery if we had to harvest the follicles from another person then we will be multiplying the risk of rejection thousand times.
Thank you for your question. If the a person is completely bald then unfortunately a hair transplant would not yield to a good result. Our doctors can harvest and implant body hair such beard and chest hair but it won't be possible to achieve a good looking result solely using body hair.

Thank you for your reply. I will answer your question assuming that BHT stands for body hair transplant. Unlike FUE BHT is not a hair transplant method. It indicates where the grafts were sourced. At GetHair we only use BHT if the donor side (back of the head) can not provide sufficient amount of grafts. Before we harvest follicles from body we tend to harvest from the beard since the graft qualify of beard is better compared to BHT. I hope this short paragraph helps you to understand what BHT stands for.

What type of transplant did you have, FUE or FUT? Also how much was the operation, and did your price include the surgeon doing all the work (not a trainee)?
Hi Andy. I had 2300 FUE grafts quoted after my consultation. This was £2300. For that figure you get the full op, accommodation and airport transfers. You just need to sort the flights. The surgeon performs the marking out of where the recipient area will be and also crucial part of making the 2300 (in my case) incisions for each follicle to be planted by trained nurses. The harvesting and implanting is the labourious part that can be passed onto someone other than a surgeon.

I’m booke in for January the 31st. Glenn rock here. Dr said I need 3800 grafts, but this man in this video is a Norwood 5 and has only 3000 grafts. I am a Norwood 3 vertex and the e dr has said I need 3800 grafts. What do I need more grafts if this man in the video has a higher Norwood rating ? Thanks.
