Hello, I am Richie. The RW Hobbies channel is dedicated to scale modeling. With a strong bias towards military jets of the 1980's, 90's and 00's.
I do regular VLOG's to show what I am working on and what I have purchased. As well as video builds and other scale modeling related material.

Finding stuff at my local model store is like waiting 3 weeks to find out rather store orders it's supplies from temu. And tge American made products are becoming extremely expensive. And sometimes cheaply make. I now see it doesn't matter. If your getting the same products for less the .temu direct curs out madman mark ups.
Hey Richie, one thing to think about if the instructions do not talk about it, is weighting the C-130 so that she will sit level. I made that oops on an older one that i built.
Zvezdas Herc is great, but has some detail issues, the most prominent of which are engine nacelles (wrong air intakes and nozzle areas) and props. The most decent correction sets are done by Bring It! Russian aftermarket company from St. Petersburg. There are 3D-decal rivet sets from Quinta Studio and Arma Models fror Herc also.
Everytime I see a Herc, I can smell the cargo bay and feel the crappy netting seats. Rode in one from CFB Trenton to CFB Petewawa for my parachute course. I remember how noisy it was in the cabin and then jump master sends you out the door and it's quiet lol
Looks pretty nice Richie. Might have to get one myself. One of my longest flights in the RAF was in a short Hercules. In 1982 I deployed to Ascension Island to bomb up the Vulcan Bombers. We flew down in a Hercules. It was about 9.5 hours to Dakar Airport in Senegal Africa. Then about another 8 hours from there to Ascension Island. All that time with sweaty ear defenders on, because its noisy as hell inside a Hercules.
Ritchie;- I changed to 1080 HD, and the image started stopping for no real reason whatsoever...I had to change back to 480. Just to let you know You Tube don't want us using 1080 by the look of it...
Hi,i want to build the H 111,is it a difficult Model?I am from Germany, i don't understand too much of your Videos.Do i need Aftermarket Products? Is the fitting good?
I love temu I get alot of my dispae and hobby tools from there and gotten alot of cool meng and other brand models too, normally get it between 5-10 days
Just checked. The 1/35 Spitfire kit is over $102 Canadian. With the exchange rate it should be about $60. Temu is a rip off. And it’s all Chyna garbage.
Yea did you factor in coupons? If your a new user you can literally get 100 dollar off coupon! My first order I made I got like 280 bucks worth of stuff for like 45 bucks or something. A lot of it was crap but some of it I still use 🤷♂️
Since this kit is unobtainable now, if wanted to build my own Gr.1 from another revell/eduard kit, which would be the best one to start with (ids, ecr, gr.4, etc...)
I have ordered a few kits and lots of supplies from there. Seeing as there is no shipping cost and it generally takes about 2 weeks or less to get to me here in Canada, it's hard not to get them.
Promoting this chinese junk provider is a stab in your local model shop's back. When they are all closed and you need stuff that won't wait four month shipping, maybe you'll regret your move.
@@Truthbomb918 @Truthbomb918 let's do it, dummy. Please stay home with your computer. No need to go out shopping. People know you're a pain in the neck...
Temu are very hit and miss. I have a feeling that they send real stuff out to be reviewed for free yet you get guff sometimes when you order. Very much hit and miss for tools and the odd kit I've bought.
Temu are in the business of putting local traders out of business and they don't pay import costs - the UK taxpayer does! Hence the reason they trade so cheap!!
Of course the kits are packaged well, they want a good review to get more customers hooked. I've seen and heard nothing but horror stories about TEMU. I've been building for 60 years and just stick with known distributors that care for their customers.
@RWHobbies + yes the academy kits are nice I have both the single seater and the two seater and the surface detail is great it's a little soft in serten parts but it's easy to rescribe the lines I need to get the trumpeter super hornets to go with the two academy kits
You're quite right about retailers delivering some models unprotected I had a model kit delivered by Amazon and it was just a label stuck on the actual box and it had been crushed! Fortunately none of the parts had been damaged
My experience with TEMU was good. Delivered in about 3 days. Yes they do keep sending emails for extra discounts etc etc on other products but I just put them in my spam envelope and don’t worry about it.
I've had a few kits off Temu.. I live in cyprus . And all are original proper kits . Perfect . And fast delivery for cyprus 2 or 3 weeks .. no import tax or duty tje price on screen is deliverd ... will use alot and save a fortune .
Pretty shallow review to not even mention, let alone even have a quick look at, the photo-etch sheet in the Spitfire. It is clearly obvious, and something most kits do not include in the box.
This was not a review of the kits. This was a promo video for Temu. As mentioned if people were interested in a standalone review to let me know and I would do one.
There is only a limited selection of kits. Seem to be under seller ColorsLife www.temu.com/colorslife-m-5569997632463.html?goods_id=601099652619569&_x_vst_scene=adg&_x_ads_channel=kol_youtube&_x_campaign=10362901&_x_cid=2043767806kol_youtube&_x_ns_creative=2043767806&_x_sessn_id=jkke3yjqvv&refer_page_name=goods&refer_page_id=10032_1727488266153_0r7gmmtvqr&refer_page_sn=10032
Well, I'm jealous. You got a pretty good haul there, but I will not do business with Temu. Heard too much sketchy info on them, between items shipped and personal info gathering. The Meng Phantom is actually a pretty good kit.
Oh dear another modeler falls to promoting this chinese knock off merchant businesses. They sell crap and some of it with toxic chemicals like baby teething chews and kids toys made with lead paint.
I am not defending them. But a Border Model kit sold and shipped by Temu is exact same Border Model kit as you would get on the shelf at your local store. You are just bypassing some supply chain and saving some $$$ in progress.
we have never had a successful delivery when it comes to things in boxes. Everything has been crushed or broken. We even had a parcel that was wet and it hadn't even rained. However, we have had success with soft items
From my experience outside of this promotional video, I have ordered from them in the past and had no issues. As long as you use a payment method with protection like PayPal, you are good to go.
Temu are total scam artists.they repeatedly send emails claiming you can get anything up to 100 % discount on the stuff you buy. What they don’t tell you is the only discount you will actually get is the difference between the manufacturer’s retail price and the price quoted on their website . Which are often more expensive than eBay or Amazon do yourselves a favour and don’t get taken for a mug.
@@clintadams8451 Just stating my experience of Temu. I am glad it worked for you. But I found that after I signed up for Temu I was daily bombarded with emails offering discounts. Anytime I attempted to by a couple of kits by the the time I got to the checkout I was being charged exactly the price their website showed and there was no mention of the discounts mentioned in the emails they had sent.
3 issues with the likes of Temu and Aliexpress:😢 1/ Never sure if these models are authentic - obvious when the model is tuppence ha'penny but not so when nearer the expected price 2/ The search function for both sites is terrible - imagine how much they might sell if this worked properly... 3/ how many times have you clicked on a link because the price looks great only to find that it was for a different kit (multi listing) or the price AND postage have magically increased?
I have found over the last 2 yrs that search engines in general suck donkey balls. It seems companies hired the same 2 people do program their search engine and they don't have a clue what they're doing. Seems google hired the same 2. Search Bosch router HSP192 and in your top results you get McCullough chainsaw poster.
My wife just got a package today from temu. Wish I could get something like this for free . I'd buy some but unfortunately I'm forever out of work due to 3 strokes and no income so no models for me. Congratulations.
@@YMagoulo tried to get it but have been turned down. It's confusing to me how a person that can't read or write didn't have a problem getting it. But I who can't walk without a cane and can't be on my feet more than 10 minutes at a time. Should have had speech therapy too
@davidsumner9656 if its anything like the Uk, if folks can't fill in the forms, then a social security person fills them in. They know which questions to answer, which aren't applicable and do the forms a lot quicker, whereas folk who can fill them in get stuck, confused and tie themselves in knots trying to find answers to hundreds of questions that they didn't need to answer, then they give up.
@@thedisabledwelshman9266 yes, if you stick to name brand products and pay with PayPal or some payment method with payment protection, you have nothing to worry about. I.e. a Border Model kit on Temu is exact same as a Border Model kit in your local store. You are cutting out the distributor and buying direct from China hence the much lower costs.
I'm glad the transaction turned out well for you. I'm personally hesitant to share my personal info and credit card info with the likes of Temu and Ali Express. However, if others choose to, that's their perogative. I'd rather support domestic (US) purveyors, whether that be my local hobby shop or preferred online retailers. I'm perplexed as to why Border pursued 1/35 for aircraft for the reasons you state. Of course, I'm also perplexed as to why 1/32 didn't catch on for armore years ago, since it's just a wee bit larger and keys in with 1/32 aircraft. It is what it is...
Aliexpress take PayPal - apart from other issues I've posted separately on, I've never had any problems with the actual stuff I've ordered or my account.
I ordered from alibaba (have many times in the past from 3 suppliers) and my cc information was stolen the last time. I rec'd a call from the CC company saying it was hacked and they immediately cancelled it.
I'll be honest when I see Temu I've always thought of cheap knock off products so have never really looked on their page. But now I know they have models they might get a few views from me.
