Realistic tips and discussions for any parent raising teens or tweens.
We don't have to be experts to parent our kids well. We know, and love, our teens more than anyone else in the world so what we really need is self-belief based on skills and knowledge.
We’re here to give you that self-belief. Welcome to Teenagers Untangled, the audio hug for parents going through the teen and tween years, made by two mums who’re going through them too.
You can hear us talk about what the experts say, and how we can use their advice in real life. Hopefully, we’re also able to offer a bit of light relief along the way.

Every person/company sells their product on RU-vid as their strategy, but I am sure your strategy does not match the RU-vid algorithm policy. That's why your views are low (last 5 days only 6 views). Your SEO score is still ZERO out of 100 scores. It is high time to hire an SEO expert who will help you optimize the videos and you will get more subscribers and viewers rapidly.
WOW! YOU BOTH ARE EXPERT, I am also working for PATHFINDER on adolescent health. now, I am working in the social media platform focusing on adolescent issues. So, I regularly enjoy your podcast. but I have a concern about your video's growth. 5 days only 19 views! how do you measure it? you posted 144 videos but your subscribers only 44 !!! Your Podcast is incredibly engaging and informative, and it deserves to reach a wider audience. Have you considered strategies to expand your reach among your target listeners? (ie: only 1 likes, and no shares, SEO score ZERO out of 100, etc) I don't want to see your good videos fail.
Thanks so much. It's just me doing everything, and I don't have any spare money so all of the RU-vid content is autogenerated from the podcast platform. When I can afford extra help I will ask for it!
Ma'am! Just a reply!! I love your podcast, Last 2 months I have been following your channel, and I have a concern about your targeted audience. However, I have a concern about your channel. Despite being 1 year old channel with 139 videos posted and 41 subscribers, your video SEO (Search Engine Optimization) score is still ZERO out of the VIDIQ score of 100. Why is that? if you want I will provide you 3 steps report in your email for free, such as 1. Issues with the channel 2. How the RU-vid algorithm can work for targeting your audience. 3. Strategies to overcome these issues. So that you can make a plan for next course of action. I am waiting for your response. Regards Masud Pervez RU-vid SEO Expert
I am also working for an International organization on Adolescent health and have successfully done many projects of adolescent SRHR, Menstrual health, and hygiene. So, I love your podcast.
Sounds like a fantastic episode! The focus on goal-setting, evolving roles, and understanding tween brain changes is so important. Having an accountability partner is a great tip too. Looking forward to listening!
How can parents navigate the challenges of managing their children's desires for expensive luxury items, like an Hermes bag, while teaching them about value and financial responsibility?
I think we need to be very clear, ourselves, what our values are and why we hold them. Then it’s a non-judgemental discussion with our teens about why they see things the way they do. Helping them to dig down into why they think and feel the way they do is never wasted; it’s one of the best things we can offer them. Teens mostly don’t know why they think the way they do.
Excellent podcast, I love it. What are some effective strategies for helping teens use their summer break to explore their passions and develop new skills, and how can parents and educators support them in finding meaningful opportunities outside the traditional educational environment?
I found your discussion on reducing nagging through routines incredibly helpful. The practical tips for managing common teen challenges like bedtime, healthy eating, and screen time were spot-on. I appreciate the focus on adapting successful strategies from other parents. Looking forward to trying these in my own household!
Excellent discussion. Understanding executive function deficits has been eye-opening. It's not about laziness; it's about skill development. This podcast episode highlights how we can identify and support teens struggling with these challenges. Excited to explore how targeted training can empower them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals effectively.
"Embracing the Sandwich Generation's challenges with humor and heart! This video sheds light on the joys and struggles of caring for both aging parents and teens. A relatable and uplifting perspective on navigating life's complexities."
A Bourgeois Busybody in her native element; getting involved in other people’s business in order to gush her self righteous, bleeding heart concern for made up nonsense 😃
Thank you for this. Empowering parents is so important. It is hard to always know what to say and how to react while walking on a very thin ice around our vulnerable teenagers. We can do so much more for our kids if only we knew what and how. It feels good to be heard and acknowledged.
Thank you for saying this. I’m so happy that it resonates with you. There are so many ways in which we parents can feel we fall short, but we can make such a difference if only we know how.❤
That’s really frustrating. TikTok is incredibly addictive, and teens at that age are notoriously bad at managing their impulses. The management is done by the pre-frontal cortex, which isn’t really developed until they’re at least 25. Our screen time episode is really helpful in explaining why he finds it hard to put down his phone, and what we can do about it. I would sit him down in a quiet moment and ask him to talk about what he really wants out of life, and where he sees himself in five years time. Write it down and ask him how he wants to go about achieving that. Then break down how much time he spends on things and whether he thinks that the things he is doing take him closer to his goals or further away. If you get him to start trying to think about what he gets out of TikTok (it’s a diversion) and whether it suits what he wants, then he’s more likely to develop the skills to control his behaviour.
My son is 14 he wants to be an athlete, but he can’t stop watching his phone tik tok he has a girlfriend and I can’t get but excuses when I tell him that sacrifice and suffering are the paths to success he can’t grasp that
