High beams on all the way, the pass in pitlane exit, the bump in the last corner...happy that Magnussen didn't get it done. Magnussen obviously not the fairest of all drivers, so good end to this story.
I was about 16 years old when this happened. My dad took me to this race and we were standing at the fence right at the finish line. Felt the debris of the cars hitting us. Been going to this track for 27 years and is still the best finish I witnessed.
For all the know nothings talking about the Corvette using high beams, sorry that you know little about racing. These are the lights these cars use in the dark at night as it is here. At 1:42 mark you can see all the cars with their bright lights on racing. These drivers aren't blinded by cars behind them like you. They're all readily equipped to race.
As a Monterey, CA native, Laguna Seca is hallowed ground for me. I was actually at that race as a kid, and that Corvette sounded way meaner in person than on camera. This was seriously the best racing i have ever seen. That being said, this track never fails to bring exhilerating action nearly every time. I wish we could go back to the days when these cars were literally stripped down versions of the road model with a roll cage. Now, they all have to have more safety equipment and electronics and emissions friendly exhausts and mufflers.
