Thanks for posting this video. It was interesting to get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes. I actually liked the original Dune better than than the new one. Mainly because the characters thoughts were narrated. The new one also downplayed the role of the guild navigators.
As Rachael in Blade Runner, you established yourself as one of the most memorable and stunning female leads in cinema history. Totally awesome and so beautiful.
She seems to think that her reputation ruined her career as an actress, but that isn't the case. In those days, actresses were done once they reached the age of 40. It happened to Kathleen Turner, Daryl Hannah, Kim Bassinger, Molly Ringwald, etc.
I don't think they have seen those films. I never put my kids in front of the TV when they were little. And I think since they've grown up those films wouldn't be their cup of tea. I did tell my older son that I was pregnant with him while I worked on Dr Jeykell and MS Hyde.
I loved you as Lois Einhorn! Such a great character. Up against Jim Carey seems like it would be tough because he such a big star. But your character was so formidable in a way that only you could pull off.
My favourite movie is the original Blade Runner and Mary Sean, you are still my favourite character in it (Rutger was also exceptional). That sequence of you making your initial entrance with the music and the beautiful lighting and saying ‘do you like our owl?’ remains untouched. All-round art and beauty! The newer movie missed out…
Dear Sean, I am almost exactly the same age as you, born 6 August 1959. I am a lawyer in Sydney, Australia. You are to me the greatest actress of the 20th Century and the 21st Century. More beautiful than any other. Dune, Bladerunner and No Way Out plus countless other movies. As soon as I saw Bladerunner when it came out in 1982 you were the quintessential beauty in my eyes that can never be equalled, let alone surpassed and you should have been catwoman.
Sean projects an Ava Gardner vibe. Two exceptionally beautiful actresses with similar appearance, unjustly labeled for a personality that resulted in them speaking their minds and standing up for themselves.
I've been wondering in the last few years why there hasn't been a documentary on Sean Young. Her story is a shining example of mysogny within the entertainment industry....this story needs to be told in detail
You were a WAY hotter Chani than the new one. The way your smooth, pale skin looked against a dark background was just hauntingly beautiful. Old Dune did a few things better, and you're one of them.
You're not crazy, Miss Young. I know someone who has a similar personality to you. It's just hard for some people to figure out how they can deal with your strong personality. You're actually very likeable and unique.
Naciste con un alma y un estado de consciencia muy elevado, un corazón lleno de amor y pureza, las personas así suelen ser incomprendidas y envidiadas...❤
I too think Dune is one of the greatest movies ever...I'm 65 and have been a Frank Herbert fan for a very long time...I have watched it countless times and use it sometimes to fall asleep...I find it to be soothing background noise...is that nuts or what?... thanx for being beautiful Sean!
One of my favorite movies was ‘ No Way Out ‘ in which you seemed to be yourself in . Whether I watched a talk show , like Letterman or later , ‘ Politically Incorrect ‘ , would depend on the guest(s) who were scheduled to appear . Whenever Sean Young was going to be a guest , ubetcha I’ll be watching !
Sean you are an absolute sweetheart and I really appreciate all of the passion that you gave and continue to give. I really want to see you do more work. You are a complete natural and I want to see you win an Oscar. I love your tap dancing and you are still unbelievably gorgeous. Thank you for giving us your everything.
You make my heart beat like crazy! Thank you so much for putting absolutely everything into your parts and your incredible energy in all that you do! what a sweet lady you are!
I think you did the right thing by not reading the script. It gave them the same breadcrumb vibe they were giving to you. They want you to grovel and this just gave them no emotional fuel to feed off. I don't think it came off as rude. It was rude of them to exclude you from the role you made famous. They are carrying the grudge. You have extended olive branch and they aren't having it. It is a bad look for them. Girl you look fabulous. There has to be some venue that wants to showcase your talents.
I was having second thoughts about dropping this video because I have a tendency to whine so please overlook that! This was filmed in 2016 (currently 8 years ago) and I have mellowed considerably. And I have humbly realized a lot that I didn't understand previously. For instance: I don't have to be perfect. It's not a crime to be honest or genuine. Om Shanti!
