A great show. Thanks for posting. Tom as ever in really good form. Such a talent. Such great pop songs. Superb evening. Thought the set really took off with Grow Old With Me.
Anyone here who has better English than me PLEASE FEEL FREE to add the correct lyrics! There are moments I have no idea what the right words are and I would like to know:) Blanking on your texts I’m taking baby steps I’m getting over you my, you’re moving pretty fast hanging out with guys I know you’ve got a past party every night and morning hopeless drink a little more and we care a little less as you go wild-eyed dancing in the daylight putting on display like I kinda want a me to see ya(???) cause I know locals smiling in your photos I think it kind of shows though you haven’t gotten over me yet you haven’t gotten over me yet yeah, you haven’t gotten over me yet I’m getting myself clean writing down my dreams I’m gonna make come true as long as I don’t think as long as I don’t blink I think I see ‘em through my, I’m walking pretty high making lots of money and behaving like a star singing every night is what I do best as I drink a little more and I care a little less as I am wild-eyed dancing in the daylight putting on (???) I tell my friends that I’m over it I’m flying solo smiling in the photos you really ought to know though I haven’t gotten over you yet I haven’t gotten over you yet yeah, I haven’t gotten over you yet... (hmmm) (lalalala) as we go wild-eyed dancing in the daylight putting on display like I kinda want a me to see ya (???) design a logo, smiling in your photos think it kind of shows though you haven’t gotten over me yet yeah, you haven’t gotten over me yet… (Byla to fuška. Místy vážně nemám tucha, co tam je za slova - snad to někdo doplní! :D Ale pocit z písně to rozhodně nekazí, zatím můj oblíbený song z monsters♥ )
Lyrics: (Intro) (Verse 1) I got a one-way ticket, I got a masterplan, A letter in my pocket Baby some roses in my hand. I got a reputation, That I'm gonna kill. Ain't got a lot of money, You sense my love but I got a lot of will. (Chorus) And I heard last night From some mutual friends, You're a little bit too proud to go Through this again. And I know you're right, But this is now and that was then. I love you too much to Loose you again. (Verse 2) I got these little shivers Coming down my spine And every word delivered Since these rivers coming up my eyes. I got a reputation, But it's gonna get better. Sometimes you gotta tear apart two broken hearts To put 'em back together. (Chorus) And I heard last night From some mutual friends, You're a little bit too proud to go Through this again. And I know they're right, But this is now and that was then. I love you too much to Loose you again.

I absolutely adore the way he describes the neighborhood and how he finishes the song asking her to come back home. This intelligent and elegant songwriting.
It's a late Friday night The street lamps are shining Up in my bedroom There's a mighty big fight Between the thunder and lightning Wonder who will lose I see a party balloon And I ain't been invited Hey, look at that moon There ain't nothing like it All grey and gold Down on Jubilee Road Can see Mr. Bouvier In his two-bedroom basement In his purple dungarees He's grumpy and he's grey Always sweeping off the pavement Cigarettes and leaves His kid's up in China His wife's up in heaven Always I wave 'Cause he's got this expression That he's so alone Down on Jubilee Road Oh, I think tomorrow night I will knock on his door and hear all about his life 'Cause I think that's the kind of thing that I might like When I'm old When I'm old There's Max and there's Maude In the house by the station Call them my best friends He drinks like a horse She don't appreciate it All this money he seems to spend I can hear them tonight He can't find no vocation The neighbors they sigh At that new generation Just getting stoned Down on Jubilee Road Oh, I think in the summertime I will call you up, make everything alright And we'll fill up our cups with that bitter wine And I'll show you, I'll show you Mice are still here Your wardrobe's still empty And the walls are still paper thin And the neighbors, my dear I think they still hate me For all these songs I endlessly sing 'Cause it ain't no perfect street I ain't no perfect lover Life it is brief I don't think we get no other Come back home Down on Jubilee Road Down on Jubilee Road
