Lol yes the hour after I put up the video lol - Real World Test - Garmin Fenix 8 Cold Dip Test FIXED!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VFXDqecW46A.html
I've had both RM2 and SN A5X. I much prefer the SN A5X - it's smarter and just does so much more (ie, indexing, etc). My issue, with both of these companies is longevity. I have had two RMs break on me within 2--3 years and now my A5X won't start - I've had it for about 3 years. I have good cases for both and am careful with these devices BUT.... I do use them a lot. So as a daily workhorse device that replaces a paper daily planner, etc, my #1 concern now is longevity. How long can we reasonably expect these devices to last with daily repeated use? Two years? Three years? I think 4 or 5 years would be reasonable. Otherwise I'm thinking going back to pen and paper and scanning notes when needed. This is the one aspect that reviewers probably cannot include in their reviews... but it's important. Maybe BOOX is better this way? Maybe reviews can include post-warranty service costs?
@morningcoach Thanks for the review. I live in western Pennsylvania and am concerned about the winter months (water freezing in chiller or lines and keeping water in Ice Barrel from getting too cold). Does the Warrior chiller help there (effectively anti-freezing and keeping water from getting too cold in barrel)?
Mark, thanks, man. I have not had it in the winter yet. I have tested the warming feature, and it works. So, I am hoping that is what it does. I run it for 1 hour in the morning every day, and it keeps it at 42 degrees. I have not had freezing temps, but I will assume that when I have it on AUTO, it will heat instead of cool when it does get cold out there. Again - the tests I have done all work, BUT we haven't had a freeze since I had it. So I don't want to just blindly say it does until we have a real test in a few weeks. BTW the ICE BARREL 500 is insulated like you wouldn't believe so I think it is going to be hard to freeze in there. But we get sub zero here in January so that will be the real test.
Be patient with it as it does take a little bit of getting used to the colors are the best but it works. He just gotta understand your expectations that it is a paper replacement and if you take it for that, I think you’ll love it.
These are amazing scanners! I'm happy that CZUR has sent one your way JB!! I actually won the ET24Pro in a competition that the CZUR had on Instagram 😃😁! As a student, I used the CZUR at the beginning of each semester to scan my texts so that I could leave the heavy books at home and just bring the Bigme Inknote Color with all my textbooks loaded. With the OCR tech I have been able to quickly search through my textbooks to find what I'm looking for - no more deciding which heavy texts to bring to school, I was able to bring them all on an eReader. AND I have been able to use software to READ the texts to me if I found I didn't have the time to just sit and read (ex. I could do dishes while doing my readings, pause, and jot down notes when needed). Now as a new teacher it is an amazing resource for me to be able to scan small sections of books that I want to use in class for students to use for their readings, etc.) It is a bit of a challenge to use for glossy photos - I might stick to a traditional flatbed scanner for scanning family photos. One suggestion I have for glossy magazines or really large books is to turn the book horizontally and just scan one page sideways at a time, it can sometimes help reduce glare - like you noticed today with moving the photo around, etc. Another tip I have seen from others on CZUR facebook groups for glossy images is to turn off the lights of the CZUR scanner and place thin coverings over lamps in the room to try to lower the direct light hitting the glossy image. Overall, in my own use case, the CZUR was a massive game changer!
HAHHAHAH yes daily Larry - funny the Garmin stuff really hit hard on the channel so just having a blast! Thanks Larry as always! Hope you are having a great weekend!
Uou have to sit in that cold water a little longer, then you won't get the shivers :) They stop after about two or three minutes in when the body gets used to the low temperature.
I just put a video up it is weird some days I don't get them - just recently been rocking it down 40 degrees - LOL Loving it - I do 3 minutes a day right now will ramp it up some - thanks!!! LOVING it! - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VFXDqecW46A.html
@@morningcoach It's so strange how the human body works. For the first few minutes it says - "you have to get out or you're going to die!" Only to change literally a moment later to "I guess this is our new reality, okay then". 😁
@@noisetin Yes it is crazy - so weird but cold plunging has really taught me a lot. HAHA :) So funny when it hits though I like "wake up" and have an ah ha moment most days are amazing, but for some reason sometime my body is like NOT TODAY HAHAHAHAHAH
It is fixed - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VFXDqecW46A.html - was 190 degrees 20 minutes after my 10 minute runs, and then 3 mins in 40 degrees and they fixed it :)
Thanks for this review. I have long struggled with in ear headphones. Over the ear has always worked better for me because they fall out more than the issue of ambient noise. I have thought about something like this for a while.
The music isn’t the best but it’s great for Running because it keeps me safe on the road and I do like them that I use them every outdoor training session I’m getting ready to go right now 🙏🏻 great Supernote video!
Crazy I just got it - going to test it tomorrow - ahaha they must have watched the video. LOL j/k funny they release it right after I put my video up LOL
Another channel did the same, dripping fenix 8 in a glass of iced water. It did the re-boot, but then he tried the beta 11.86 or 11.87 which fixed the issue.
And the cold water bug is fixed in the Beta and if you are not beta tester... the last release 11.68 fixed potential shutdown due to rapid temperature change.
Hello, thanks for the analysis. I'm interested in these PRO questions. In Languages, does it have Spanish menus? And can you send texts or written work via Bluetooth or USB C? Thanks, I look forward to your response.
No Bluetooth - on the device - Spanish Menus - support.remarkable.com/s/article/Supported-languages#:~:text=Tap%20Menu%20in%20the%20upper,Folio%20and%20choose%20your%20language. I think you could do USB C - but WiFi with the APP or Email is how most people send - thanks for asking!
@@morningcoach that said, in the end I realized my back pain was down to TMS I discovered John sarnos book and it went. It makes sense the infra red relieved it because it increases oxygen flow. I took them to the UK and it relieved my mums arthritis too
I never understood the complaint about the minor delay. When I'm writing, I'm usually looking off to the side, picturing the story unfold. Not staring at the screen.
That rocks I can see that - for me it just feels slow my mind and fingers are ahead of it. That’s what’s great about tech different strokes for different folks 👊🏼 thanks for the comment…
Please be careful with these things near your eyes and avoid looking directly at them when they are turned on. From their website: “In conclusion, while red light therapy is generally considered safe for the eyes, it's important to take precautions to minimize any potential risks. […] One such precaution is using eye protection during your red light therapy sessions. Eye protection can come in the form of goggles, glasses, or even simple eye masks. These can help shield your eyes from the bright light emitted by red light therapy devices and prevent any discomfort or irritation that might result from exposure to the light.”
Thank you yeah we figured it out and it’s actually working out really good. I went back to the silicone ban. I did get a cloth one very happy with it now I’ve been wearing it 23 hours a day and no problems after my runs. I scrub it and clean it let it dry off and then I put it back on and I haven’t had any problems since then. Thanks for the comment.
Nice that’s great. It is really cool. You can use a single sheet method or go to the 2024. I’m still using the 2024. We’re building the 2025. We’re gonna build a special planner for that.
WOW! I've said many of the same things! I have a Garmin Fenix 7. It just works. I've played with the Apple Watch, and I have said "it feels like a toy". The Garmin feels like a tool. I'm not a professional athlete by any means, but the Gamin has 30+ features that the AWU does not have. From a fellow Hoosier, I wish you the best at the race in Indy!
Thanks, I appreciate it training hard :) Thanks for the comment, looking forward to running through Indy been a long time since I have been down there. Went to Purdue, graduated from Ball State HAHA
Something for everyone in there, even those that use the full planner to whet their appetite. Even if only a few start tracking more metrics for their own health then it's all worth it 👍
Thank you Gary excited about the new planner, and building some great sections. Really a community build. Once we get it done, can focus on a Color one for RPP and then, hopefully, by year-end, some moduler so people can create their own. Appreciate the support.
I would not say this is NOT my favorite reading device, but unfortunately, it works there are better readers....you may look at a BOOX device but they are tougher....
My Background: I’m a long term boox user ( bought and sold 7 devices) and I’ve had the nomad . The golden week in china is 1-7 of October . This is the week which all people in china have off. A5x2 Samples have already been received in Europe (and I assume the US). Testing of the samples is currently underway in Europe (and I assume the US). So, it would be very reasonable to assume it’ll be released in early-mid November (if not earlier). I’m happily waiting but my note taking / e reading needs are not as pressing as others, I gather. I’m just a political scientist. I also am willing to wait for a device with the commitment of repairability, durability, customer service support, and a rich feature set for researchers in particular. Everything excluding the last one boox fails in spectacularly . Their features for researchers are the best in my opinion, but I’m hoping Supernote will catch up.
Thanks for this comment, they used to send me demos so fingers crossed. I was inactive for a few years, but now the channel is picking back up. Have always been a fan. Thanks for the comment!
I currently work in locations without internet access for a few weeks at a time. Would i still be able to utilize most of the functions and templates without being synced to internet? I would primarily be using this to take notes for later reference. Thanks for the video!
I don’t think it can. It doesn’t bother me that bad. I think it’s the way the technology works. It has a refresh. They have to refresh it for the speed aspect from what I understand. That’s what Voya said. Honestly don’t use it much use the highlighter that’s primarily what I use which it works good for me. Not sure what the current tech if they can do much about it.
