I would love to see these lost buildings. Some day, there will be an operation to create three dimensional models for exploring old places with headsets on. I hope I'm still alive to help.
not a complex issue at all. the problems with the batteries are easily summarized, easily understood and lead to one and only one conclusion which is as stated, these batteries have no place in existence. totally unsafe, with the entire climate change agenda a hoax advanced by Orwellian misfits out of initiatory societies advancing the agenda of oligarchical satanism. duh.
I think with some artists, lack of recognition in their lifetime is life's way of protecting them from the fickle circus of fame and celebrity. It can often spoil a sensitive soul. Some people are better off left to just get on with it, bless them ! Lowry was a case in point. I think he understood that, too.
Sorry you weren't happy with the audio and subtitles. I admit that the audio for the introduction is not great, but I think that of Selina Todd seems fine to me. The subtitles are generated by RU-vid automatically if you choose them. I've just had a look and again, with a few caveats, they are surprisingly accurate.
Very sad ,when you have parents, that are not so good saying they were terable.but it is very sad ,i love, Lowerys painting.people were just mean .and i think he was just fantastic better than most .
Really fascinating watch, as a Telephone Engineer working inside the BT Exchange, it’s amazing to learn about what once stood and the history I stand on when working.
Just heard Prof Christiansen talk last week at a seminar for emergency services in Tasmania. As a volunteer Fire Brigade Chief, it was eye-opening to hear! Prof Christiansen delivered his talk in an engaging and very interesting manner. Since the talk I have updated our response protocol for electric vehicle crashes and fires. Hazmat and stay OUT of the vapour cloud!!
Just watched this after the radio play referred to was recommended to me by someone who I believe knows Michael. A very interesting talk, and, may I say what a lovely fella ! I blew into Northumberland from the south about twelve years ago and have popped into the Lit and Phil a few times just to sit and “be” A wonderful place. I’ll be checking out more of Michael’s work for sure. Many thanks for this.
Excellent lecture thank you and as the MD Fire Risk assessor company (based in N Shields) has filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge around the subject. On the subject of education the Fire Risk Assessment sector needs educating as well. Unlike the Fire Brigades we are out day in day out looking at these issues and trying to put in controls and mitigations
The movie is an excellent whodunit and concerns upon one murder in the Orient Express train with Hercules Poirot (Albert Finney) as sleuth-man to solve it . There are many suspects , all support cast : Sean Connery , Ingrid Bergman , Anthony Perkins , Vanessa Redgrave , Jacqueline Bisset , Richard Widmark , Rachel Roberts , John Gielgud , Michael York , etc . Who's the killer? . Poirot is helped by a ¨Watson-alike¨ (Martin Balsam) and they will track down to culprit at the end . At the beginning of the film talks about a kidnapping and killing a baby similarly to the Lindberg's son and which the murderer was condemned to death row , this one will be related with the death of the train. The motion picture is only set on two scenarios : the station and train . However this doesn't make boring it. The runtime movie is overlong : two hours and some but isn't slow-moving and is amount amusing for suspense and tension. First-rate interpretation specially from Albert Finney and Ingrid Bergman , Oscar winner as best secondary actress . The set design and costumes are riveting , the flick is magnificently set by that time . Evocative musical score by Richard Rodney Bennett . Geoffrey Unsworth's cinematography is atmospheric and colorful. Sidney Lumet's direction is fascinating such as ¨12 angry men¨ . The movie will appeal to suspense enthusiasts and thriller lovers.
Fascinating talk by Dr.McCorristine (illustrated by contemporary documents) describing a "Bastille" - like prison in the middle of the city where all offenders were held in crowded, unsanitary conditions.
HI Miriam your playing has eased my days through Autumn and now Winter during these difficult times. Thank you so much for your marvellous interpretation and presentation of these elegant baroque pieces . Hopefully, 2021 will allow Marguerite and you to enjoy playing in front of a live audience at the Lit and Phil . Best wishes Colin Blakey
