It's pretty hard for an EQ to stand out these days, but Fairuz manages to do so. Somehow, this EQ makes it easy to enhance everything that is already good in an instrument or vocal track. This alone has made this my go-to EQ now, but on top of that, the voice, tremor, hammer and the pultec-ish punchy filter options are awesome when a track wants it or needs them.
My go to for mixing, it's also surprisingly useful on busses when you want to add weight without flab or detail without harshness. Just wonderful stuff!
I used the beta gui version of Fairuz on my last record mix, and I was very pleased with what it did for the snare and the keys. It brought out the clarity, punch and body I was looking for in the snare without over processing the signal, and added the sparkle and air I was looking for after I used the 565 on my keys. Magical combination!
Loving this on busses and master! I would really recommend the ability to bypass the A/D as an option AND more wet/dry options esp when we are using on a master....sometimes I want a little of the color but still some transparency from before. Preferring the Line Amp off on the master to keep it super open. Also wet/dry on the compressor :) Anyway, loving how smooth and beautiful it sounds.
Hold shift while toggling the red input pot and it automatically compensates the output sliders. Maybe it was mentioned and I missed it but worth knowing.
I have learnt a lot from Mark over the years and his attention to detail is what always impresses me most. He having worked with Bill Schnee says it all. Congratulations on your new plugin.
All I can say is God bless you. I started in analog in the 80s and mixing totally in the box does smush or "constipate" a mix. This actually made be teary-eyed. Well done indeed.
you know all these plugins that emulate analog gear, and doesn't EXACTLY get it, they're good but something is off, But with THIS plugin, it's the real deal. We finally did it, can't tell the difference between analog and digital anymore.
Saw the email the day of release and have been reading every post in headspace and testing this plugin myself the past 5 days. Prior to that I was watching Marc’s videos regarding how his different AD converters impart different sounds and found that to be very useful after importing those stems for myself to hear. Seeing all this plugin offers and the originality behind its design AND the intention behind it is fantastic. I’m a huge fan of Pulsar Modular’s tools and Marcs teachings, this couldn’t have came during a better time. Thank you to you both for your innovation and dedication. Just finished a mix with these last night and it replaced the mix I had considered to be done without these tools. Also… READ THE MANUAL! All of PM tools are very detailed and if you take the time to read and understand these tools you’ll get the most out of them. Arigato! -Crispy Akiyama
Been testing this on some mixes for different clients and it’s exactly what I have been looking for for so long 👏🏼👏🏼🥹 incredible incredible job on this. Love all the different colors and how the bands react when cut or pushed, and the analog openness is so great. Almost went for the UAD Mastering Comp for a similar effect but this has way more. Sorry I’m rambling.. THANK YOU!
Hi Marc Daniel & Pulsar. If you truly wanted to show how accurate of an emulation this plugin is you should have done a proper A/B test. It seems a little disingenuous to have the real thing sitting right behind you and not compare them at least briefly as a testament to how accurate your plugin design is.
@@ramspencer5492 sure, I can believe that, my point is it’s a little frustrating for a plug-in developer to say the main function is an emulation a hardware chain and then not even demonstrate how accurate of an emulation it is, but rather just “take their word for it”. Customers are rightful to be weary of overly positive sales language and bold claims these days.
Tested couple of days and this plugin is just amazing! Make tiny steps in each section and after that press on/off you can hear huge difference - thanks MDN!
Love this and love Marc!you are my biggest mixing and Audio hero in general. Because of that I do wish the comparisons would be level matched a little better tho’ The plugins own input and output meter show a clear difference throughout the video. Alas It’s marketing, so understandable.
another "best in a market" one.... .5 years of development, etc..Right! Anyway - these are .too expensive no matter how good they are. Pulsar Modular prices are ridiculous. I wonder if anyone paid them money they ask for their very "special" products. If you want analog - get hardware , don't trust "emulation algorithm" and other B.S.
You should stop fooling people! Teach them how to mix properly (so the mix would not sound "constipated in the first place") instead of turd polishing with $250 plugin - that's how I really feel.
No one, absolutely, no one! Can "teach" you how to mix a record. Maybe you're just not good at mixing. Reason being... this product is phenomenal, and I heard it as soon as I inserted it. If placed on submix or master bus of a project that's "mixed" well, it shines bright like diamond. Seriously, I own a lot of plugins and some hardware, and this thing is the real deal. Despite the price tag, it's worth science put behind it.
250 is more than fair for the bundle and 189 into price is a steal. The plugins have excellent audio quality and that will save you money the long way, as those tools will sit in your folder a very long time; and they will replace a lot of stuff, if you start to compare.
You sound like you are a paid plant for Pulsar modular. I've never heard a normal person spit out so many numbers to convince a total stranger why they "need" something. It's similar to the Jedi mind trick approach where one simply tells another "what you say is too expensive is actually a bargain. you will buy it and it will make your life better. You will feel whole again after buying 200- 400 dollar plugins that make such a small difference that only other producers and engineers will be able to discern, but trust me you need this." @@nichttuntun3364
Sounds amazing and Marc seems like a genuine guy backing this plugin. No snake oil. I pulled the trigger, the separation, depth and sheen it brings sounds very professional.
can we just take a step back and really enjoy the way Mark explains how this plugin works? its so natural and the examples are so high quality it makes everything just feel so natural.
