ACoP Training Ltd is based at a quarry site near Cross Hands, South Wales -- an ideal location for simulating a live working environment during training.
first time being a banksman other day at work never done it before the truck driver explained how to do it and it is quite easy but he did tell me i should have told him to stop sooner otherwise when he was raising the catwalk it could have hit the trailer but he said it was good for a first time and said i should leave space to be able to walk betweent the back of the trailer very easy tbh tho
i got my CPCS slinger signaller ticket in ACOP, 1st on site experience was with a Tower crane to then a tower crane with trolly (hand held controls than cabin), i had over a year and half banksman experience with traffic and a tele handler before i went for the slinger/ signaller course and when they do a CPCS traffic Marshall course ill be booking my place. When i have more slinger experience ill spend the money necessary to get bother Slinger sig and traffic marshal blue cards and feel very confident in what i am doing. if you have on site experience even at banksman youre almost half way there with signalls, saftey regs, things like over head cables & pedestrians, slinging is about lifting, accessories, communications, LOLAR, what makes communications with a radio falter, etc. we all got asked what is the golden rule of lifting by a health and saftey manager, i answered it correctly others in the lift team forgot (Crane operator, and 2 other slingers.
crane operators earn good money, mobile, currently they do at ACOP, tower you might have to go somewhere else, ask ACOP they will give you a lot of information
Hello sir I have 12 year heave excavator experience in rocky mountain ND trunch beckfilling loading unloading pipelines I have two licence Oman and qatar how can I apply online for job as a excavator operator
yes it is, but i pushed and pushed and my 1st was with a tower crane now a pedestrian crane and i'm still there, as i had a lot of experience traffic marshalling and banksman including hand signals it helped me get on sites, but dont give up. every day i sling up the padestrian/ trolly crane and traffic marshal also taking pictures of me doing things to show my experience
i did slinger sig at acop and my 1st onsite experience was with a tower crane and now a pedestrian crane and is still there. if your old man is a black hat or to me a crane/ lift supervisor, you should pass it with ease and get ou on sites with no problems. i work with a former crane operator on oil rigs and he gives me pointers/ hints about slinging.

Yes, I think that's a great way to go, completing the slinger/signaller course first should give you a good grounding in lifting operations prior to moving onto the operation. Although we have recently noticed that 'combined' courses to cover both crane (crawler in particular) and slinger/signaller are increasing in popularity. Give us a call on 01269 844155 if you'd like to talk over some options. Thanks.
there is now a mobile crane operator course at acop for mobile crane operator, i even showed/ told my superviser whos a blue card slinger and he wants to go on it also
Driving over 14 years mostly London and jeez it’s a crap game now no job security due to agency’s I wish I did the cranes longer contracts etc. Log book normally gets put in bin due to no one on site on job with proppa authority to sign off hours etc which I found. Good luck guys 👍
What do you mean? I was looking to do 360 with lifting ops. Do you think its a bad idea? Or you reckon crane is the way? If so which one? I'm trying to get on a site, and want to find the best paid, most stable. But hard to find which is best.
van mannison they sure do but I’m still in the game you get some shit job and then some good jobs take the rough with the smooth but you gotta admit a lot of it is just bollocks 15 years in the machine and another 15!years to go lol to old to change now 🙈
@@dannyboy1868 true mate I got out of it all the card stuff and the yellow book bollocks running round after someone to sign it off like a school kid no chance like you said they ain't interested, 7 licences down the pan and I ain't ever going back to it,,, I agree with health and safety but it's gone f..n bonkers on site fences everywhere can't slew without scratching machine nightmare good riddance I say
Hi all iam 32 years. Ill like to know which machine has more jobs in the construction industry. Ill like to train for anything as long as i can get a job quick
All a scam I qualified 2008 dumpers all sizes articulate ridged nvq level 2 180 loader only to be to told they all worthless now .worked in industry most of my life. oh an hgv worthless as well because of cpc training i don't have. They wonder why people are dieing in construction and civil engineering.
It helps if you've had experience in a forward tipper before getting the ADT...I had one for 5 years before I got my articulated. They're actually easier to drive than forward tippers...best way to get experience is approach recruitment agencies, one after the other, you will get seat time eventually. Hope this helps 👍
Bullshit, am on agency on a CPCS Red card (noob) and am on £16 an hour. I have signed upto 4 different agency’s so far and have had work off all of them. I even rang one of the site’s they where sending me to because I was trying to get out of doing the job because the current job I was on was better and I spoke to the site manager and said ‘hi am coming in your site tomorrow as your Moxy driver but am on a red card, does that matter’ and he replied ‘no why would it’ lol I was like dam, I don’t want to go on this new site 😂
I currently work hgv 1 . Have always fancied the idea of this kind of work. Is 44 to old to get started. Is it just a case of get license and simply start work.
Thanks for the comment, and 44 is certainly not too old to start in construction! We run a variety of courses on plant machinery for anybody who want's to learn. There are a variety of ways to find work after you gain your CPCS ticket, albeit via an agency or directly employed by a company. I would recommend you have a look at what jobs are advertised online for plant operators and plan a course around that. 360's are often the hardest machines to find work, as many sites like to see some experience. However, there is currently a shortage of skilled operators for plant, which would certainly play to your advantage. Give us a call for a chat 01269 844155. thanks again.
