You got a new subscriber ! I like that you are listening and commenting - and not showing off yourself - . I´m sure that others have recommended other songs/performances - - now 4 years later I can recommend Queen ( Roger and Brian ) + an extra drummer - a bass player and a multi musician playing keyboard and other stuff. The new lead singer is Adam Lambert. He has been touring with Queen for 10+ years - and I recommend "Who wants to live forever" from 2016 the day after a mass shooting in a gay-nightclub. Rogers comment was " I have never heard it sung like that before" and Brian - who wrote the song - remembers Adam going up into the stratosphere with his voice. Adam works in his own style and fits perfectly with the band without trying to be Freddie - no one is. Then I can also recommend a movie - "Highlander" - where Queen wrote the whole soundtrack - . It is about being immortal - Sean Connery is one of the really old ones - and The song "Who wants to live forever" is from that - written by Brian.
I don't think Alex and the band were greatly into substance abuse... unless you count alcohol. SAHB was very theatrical / vaudeville / gangster / pirate / teller of weird and wonderful tales. Don't assume every line has a deep meaning, sometimes it's just pictures and atmospherics.
A single song with an unfolding story. It is a modern EPIC! I belive it was number 1 three times. Certainly a big part of musical heritage and of course not a one hit wonder like many. Freddie Mercury was a giant among artists. Brian May a gifted guitarist in fact the entire band is a LEGEND. Of course their Live Aid performance has constantly been awarded the BEST EVER live performance! And it was, and remains so till this day.
Also c 74 years old. I drove my kids to school every day. Forced them to listen to all kinds of music. They love it all, bluegrass, country, classicsl, heavy😂 metal, folk and above all groups like Queen. They love it ALL. THAT IS WHAT MUSIC IS!! When my don was 12 months old. He was boogieing out at the local fair to the beach hoys!
To create that harmony of voices, to replicate the opera chorus, they re-recorded the tape 36 times without ever missing a note. In 1975, there were no synthesizers, computers, or autotune. It was all pure talent!
You can never assume people have heard a song, no matter how well known the song is. I was once at a Christmas in July party, and someone had brought along a friend who didn't know any of the Christmas songs we were singing. I asked him about it later, and he revealed he was Jewish!
So surreal. They were from obscurity to become the biggest band in the world only to recede back into becoming virtual unknown to new generations of music fans in American.
I just came across your reaction and am always surprised when yrou younger generation are totally surprised by what we classed as our great music also.I tbink this spent either 9 or 12 weeks ar number 1
1976 one of the greatest live albums of all-time ✌️🙂 Everyone and I mean everyone bought this album Frampton guitar work on the whole album is fantastic especially this song 🙂🎸 The TalkBox work is pure magic and the crowd lost their minds when he kicked that baby into high gear. It takes a few plays but you can start to make out words. ..but Joe Walsh used one a couple of years before on.... Rocky Mountain Way !
Firstly, this is a great song from a great band. Secondly, "Hello Hooray" is a song in which Alice Cooper is able to demonstrate that he is actually a skilled singer, above and beyond the ability of many frontmen that exist in the Rock and Roll genre. Alice Cooper is a talented musician and very much deserves his success.
They could do it all. From opera to metal. And all four could sing. They were live just as good as in a studio. Great born musicians. Greatest band ever.
yeah, this was a concept album, that got turned into a movie. It helps to watch the movie The Wall and it's kind of a musical movie, with the group doing all the songs in the movie.
