Hi!! I recommend using a pair of baggy jeans if you need more fabric! Alternatively, you can use two pairs of jeans and mix denims as well! Happy sewing <333
Hii <3 This step is not necessary, but for my specific measurements, the pockets were in the way and I would've ended up cutting through them if I didn't remove them first! Also, removing them can give you a bit more seam allowance! I hope this helps, happy sewing <333
I’m gonna try the hand sewing alternatives!! Thank you sm for putting those in the videos cause I had no idea how I was gonna do this without a sewing machine 😅
That pleated jean skirt flip is adorable. It definitely gives retro Y2K vibes yet it’s still timeless because it’s not a micro-mini skirt like the Y2K version of this look. Great work will all the flips!
Hii <33 Here is the breakdown of the calculation for that measurement: 1) Measure around the top half of the skirt (where you will be connecting the two pieces) 2) Take that measurement and divide by 5 (this is equal to the number of pleats you will make to fit around the skirt) 3) Take the number of pleats and multiply it by 7 (this accounts for the 3.5 cm times 2 between each pleat) 4) That's it! The final number is the length of the long piece (in cm) I hope this helps, happy sewing <333
Question! How did you sew the pleated part and the top part of the skirt together without closing off the bottom of the Top part of the skirt? Sorry if that doesn'r make sense
Hii <3 I know this is a very late reply lol, but to answer your question, this step is not really necessary, but for my specific measurements, the pockets were in the way and I would've ended up cutting through them if I didn't remove them first! Also, removing them can give you a bit more seam allowance! I hope this helps, happy sewing <333
A skirt, body-hugging top (ooh a corset so it's much better), and a cute bag... everything that I have been thinking for the past hour was made in this video. Thank you so much! I'm so lucky to see this first and not waste my time looking for 3 videos that teach individually what I want & need to do. 😊
your channel gives me so much motivation to pick up my needle and thread! you honestly deserve so much more recognition frrrr! also, i request u to recreate any of the popular pieces in gilmore girls <3
omg tysm! I am so glad these vids are inspiring you to start sewing, send me pics of your creations <33 Also, I will definitely do a video of recreating something from Gilmore girls soon, it sounds so fun! Thanks so much for the suggestion!
you always want to leave about half an inch to an inch of seam allowance! Honestly my best advice is for any beginners to leave as most seam allowance as possible, so you can easily correct any mistakes that you may come across :))
Just wanted to comment on your amazing sewing skills! My mom will be incredibly proud if you were her daughter cuz I can't sew for nuts! U're too good!! :O
