I wanted to play through this game again, but to get to the end (the final boss fights against Metal Gear D, Gray Fox, and Big Boss) much faster than normal. Watching your speedrun playthrough was VERY helpful! Thank you so much for uploading!
I used this video as a play through since there isn't that many and they're all more than 4 hours, and I have got two things to say. First, you are fast. Second, What a good game! And that ending though. Also, his friend and fan was really the best character he helped him all the way because of his guilt. F in the chat boys!
The reason is that Nintendo was too successful in the video market when the first 2 MG games got released . The closest North & South Americas were to getting actually high quality Metal Gear games was to remake them on the Sega Genesis and Sega CD when Sonic the Hedgehog was the *god* of videogames .

Several times now I've tried to play through this game and I get pretty far and get stuck.. if I recall correctly, last time I concluded that I accidentally killed "Meryl" before meeting her in the ladies room? Did something to make the game unwinnable, anyway.
That's Gustava Heffner , but in the original Japanese MSX2 computer version she is named Natasha Marcova . I still find it weird that they changed her name .
The amount of times you ignore the codec... Surely they would have thought you died at least once! No: "Snake...? SNAKE? SNAAAAAAAAAAKE!!! Oh sorry you were just on the toilet? My bad..."
@@dabearcub i know for a fact they have different music besides one looping track playing the WHOLE FUCKING GAME such as mystery mode or ninja mode so i win smart guy you are right too so quit being mean lmao
Weird how a game from 1990 accidentally predicted how British soldiers would look from 2010 onwards (granted they're not British in this game.) The resemblance is oddly perfect.
Thanks for the info. Gonna try this method, also when you got inevitable alert on the long stairs, does that count towards your final score under the alert mode?
BigRig Joe according to MGS4 he barely survived and was kept on life support for years, then he confronts Snake in that graveyard and dies to the FOXDIE virus
JaguarKing is your man if that is to happen, he's up to date with a number of improvements, including one amazing one for the final boss. also, both FingersTheHand and I are europeans, so travel distance would be an issue for us. Though TFH I'd also love to see it, but I think a problem might be that there aren't enough possible donation incentives. I guess acting out some of the cutscenes and taking some of the more absurd codec calls might be one.
Great run! It's amazing seeing where all the ideas for later MGS games came from, like freezing the key to make it change shape, the long run up the stairs of the communication towers and the various bosses such as the Hind.
Amazing, man... It's so perfect it feels almost like it's the computer doing it all by itself. Have you considered writing a FAQ, walkthrough, or anything about the game? You may be the single person on earth that knows it this well.
I would've never beaten Metal Gear 2 without this speed run. Too many cryptic puzzles, though I get the feeling most of them are solvable with the right Codec calls and kids. Still, it is a much better game than the first Metal Gear. This speed run is good as well.
these speed runs make me very skeptical, is it really possible to swim that fast? i don't know, i never played this game, so not sure if is normal speed when in the water or not, looks pretty fast to me though
ah, alright, was just curious, it seemed a little weird is all, but i'll believe you on it. i wasn't trying to just say this video was bs or anything, i was just checking to be sure that's all
