Also, hit up A.P. Beswick and his Leviathan Series...not romance, more fantasy retelling....might be up your alley. I think book 1 is still free on Kindle. ALSO...did u read The Maze Runner series? Would go with the hu ger game and divergent series. Or even Red Rising series. So good.
I have never heard of A.P. Beswick but the Leviathan Series sounds like something I'd really enjoy, thank you!! It's so hard to find unique book recommendations so seriously, thank you!! And I read the Maze Runner ages ago, but I still need to pick up Red Rising, it's sounds really interesting!
The stars cannot believe you’d waste your life. They in their stadium withhold their breath. Bizarre you thought that freedom wasn’t thine, and that you came to Life to work to Death. Ah, weren’t you born to frolic on the Earth? Some ruins stand because they want you back. How shameful if your feet did not return, to come and keep the pillars from collapse. They say a knight protects the Holy Grail. He like the pillar stands. You go to work. You, human, weren’t designed to work retail. The knight instilled into thy heart is bored. Let’s make the stars erupt into applause, and find out that freedom was always ours. a sonnet i wrote
Everyone just loves ballad of never after so much, i decided to give caraval series a try. The FMC in caraval #1 was so horrible, she's literally a wet tissue paper! The whole plot is confusing and "nothing is real". The stupid instalove with someone who basically kidnapped her. She falls in love, gets her trust broken, rebuilds that trust and gets heartbroken and then again in love within the span of 3 days. Then I thought maybe Stephanie Garber did it better in the Once upon a broken heart series, since its the one that is hyped. But when i saw that evangeline wants to kiss jacks while she claims to love her bf so much she came all the way to prince of hearts to stop the wedding, I instantly dnfed it. I have seen this mess of an FMC before and I'm not here for it
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way! And I agree, Scarlett was so dumb and useless in Caraval. The "nothing is real" part felt like a cop out for the author to just randomly do whatever she wanted lol
I love your video! You have really nice commentary that’s detailed and informative and thoughtful. That Frankenstein one in particular sounds very problematic and uncomfortable 💀 and I also hate romance books centered around cheating partners so that’s particularly disappointing the roughest draft decided to go that way because it sounds otherwise really cool
I think my favorites of 2023 was either Shark Heart (weird and fun!), The Midnight Library (I constantly think about it) or.. Yellowface! (I was on edge until the last parts)
Love the video! Thank you so much for the recommendations, the honesty, and your experiences with the books. I definitely have some of those books in my 'to read' list. It is nice to see a RU-vidr that reviews books your way. Have a wonderful day!
I've heard lots of great reviews of Book Lovers, I even bought it. Haven't started reading it yet so it's just been lying on my shelf for past 2 months. I'll give it a go after I finish Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban!
Horrid sounds interesting. Not sure I can handle reading Bloodwitch. For some reason I can't do high fantasy. Too much for my brain to handle. Great reading vlog. Happy Reading!
I agree, high fantasy takes a lot of brain power to deal with all of the world building. Now that summer is coming up I can't handle it either, I need lighter reads lol. Thanks for watching :)
Hi Nicole! I really hate when I start a series and end up only liking the first book. It is a bit disappointing! I need to do another unhaul myself. One of these days I will get back on that.
Unhauls can be disappointing when I reflect on all of the books I'm getting rid of, but then I remember I now have more room on my shelves for even more books!
