Morality is the cognitive process of differentiating between human intentions, decisions, and actions that are appropriate from those inappropriate. The recognition and evaluation of the consequences our choices have with regards to ourselves and others. My NOT believing in a mythological god in no way impedes the ability of forming such moral assessments. We are self aware conscious pain and emotion feeling individuals capable of love or hate, incredible acts of altruism or depravity. It's how we navigate through life and these potential extremes that define us, not our belief ( or lack of ) in anyone's specific subjective invisible "God"
Hi there, Mark here. Good question. My brief response is that good and evil are moral terms, which only have meaning when they are anchored in the belief in a supreme God that gives them meaning. The supreme being that I believe has revealed himself (we go through the reasons for this in the first few episodes of the apologetics series) is the God of the Bible and so God is where "good" comes from. Another way of saying it is that good and evil only have meaning when God is acknowledged and so God gets to define what is good and evil. We believe God has defined good and evil in the Christian Bible. I hope that helps!
Listening around 15 and outwards. You wanted to remove healtcare for people. You wanted to take away choices. That is pretty big. I say that is not loving your neigbour, and that you are judging peoples choice. And, I said that it might be judging by my side.
Thank you for your interest in our podcast and for the time you took to hear us out. I appreciate it. You and I have never discussed healthcare to my knowledge, though that would be an interesting topic to explore at a later time. What we have had vigorous discussions about is wether it is ok to kill innocent human life. You have argued in the affirmative, and I have argued against it. You might find the discussion between pastor Mark Carter and I on abortion interesting: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7vBypUUPF9A.html Judging righteously is an inherently good and loving thing to do. As parents we know that we must make many judgments about right and wrong all the time, and we teach our children how to judge between right and wrong. As Mark and I have argued, scripture is clear that Christians should judge righteously within the church. You are correct that your statement is judging. I just think that you judge incorrectly when you say that judging is not loving
