I see this lot. A basic movement missed. You should always look before you turn. The fact that so many people are not looking tells me it is not taught.
Gkr is not taken seriously because of poor standards. Should look, then rotate toward line of travel and then move 45ish degrees transitioning through zenkuts before pulling the hips to generate the power to break the attackers grip.
@@spinoneintliano 100% agree, personally it's such a shame seeing these "black belts" do saifa in this manner, if an okinawan master saw these "black belts" doing Saifa, they would most definitely end up laughing
Great to see so many women training in karate all wearing black belts, their focus, power, speed and delivery of technique was far superior then the men, also the ladies loud KIAI was more audible over the guys ! what do you think ?
This bad, very bad. A complete failure to understand the kata. Where is the grapling technique? Empi instead of grip breaking & standing on one leg waiting to be hit. Mcdojo on steroids. Truly awful.
Agree, very bad, black belt levels but most failed to engage the hips, just robotic movements, the counting was strange, it sometimes broke down a single technique into parts as if they were white belts. Seiyunchin is not even a black belt Kata, it's intermediate, they should be able to nail it but it's a very bad execution really.
@@katejackson2510 I would have thought she does goju ryu as its there kata. Its the lack of bunkai with Gkr or it used to be that causes the comments from Sophia etc
This is the problem with GKR it’s a mish mash of authentic Goju and Shotokan but it’s neither one or the other Goju katas look very poor for black belts compared to authentic Goju only black belts imho
@@EmilyHarvey Just research issues with gokan, put the word gokan into a Japanese dictionary, tell a Japanese person you do gokan, you'll see what I mean when you research the word
@@EmilyHarvey I'm guessing they told you to take down your your last post, they are very controlling, you won't be be a black belt in goju or shotokan, please research Mc dojo gokan, you won't be able to ask them questions they will just deny it all
Bro.. listen. It’s kata. This is just the basis. It’s just a set of moves put together to creat muscle memory and general memory of the moves. It’s also the base of a strong fight pattern. Right now your getting schooled by a 14 year old orange belt. Just know that you have to learn the kata to be able to criticise
OK, the GKR is a pyramid scheme, Bassai Dai is supposed to be a flowing kata . they are teaching falsely . Keinosuke Enoeda would be rolling in his grave .
@@desolateones Its performed incorrectly...its derived from Budokan which is where Sullivan started karate...same with Goshin Ryu...this is a bastardized version of Bassai dai...if you want to see it performed correctly check out the JKA versions as designed by Funakoshi and Nakayama
@@maccaholmes4854 See. The issue with the first comment is the same issue with your comment. Each style has changed parts. Each style has done what they think is the better way of doing it. I always hate when someone tries to compair this style with that without clear lines of understanding. Point of reference for you is this. 1. Goju Ryu - Bassai dai 2. Shotokan - Bassai dai 3. Shito ryu - Bassai dai Andddd so on. Ant James thinks GKR is a " pyramid scheme ". You think " performed incorrectly " so both of you are clearly in the mind set of this is completely wrong and another style is better. The style that works for you. Is the best style you can do. { Unless it is that no contact chi thing.. } To help others understand this later on as it has been a month since the last comment. A boxer would say Karate doesn't work. A kick boxer would say MMA doesn't work. But if the style really helps you when you really need it... Then it is the best for you.
@@TankerReview it comes down to WHY the moves were changed...There is no logical or sane application of the moves in the newer versions...Ive trained across all those styles in the last 40 years and have been present at black belt meetings where changes were implemented and for the most part they were changed so it could be claimed a new style had been created...more often than not for business reasons...by the way...Go Ryu do not have Bassai Dai as one of their katas...they may perform it for competition but it is not in the syllabus
@@nathanhardy7008 I thought gkr was supposed to be a mix of goju & shotokan rather than the mcdojo it actually is? If so you would be able to develop enough power to.use one strike at that range.
