不是觉得己方用力大就是力大,而是对方感觉到己方力大才是力大; 不是己方加快速度就是速度快,而是没有多余动作走捷径才是速度快。

That is so effective that I've actually had 3 people attack me and thankfully I knew this stuff. I walked away and the fight was rather easy. Not saying I didn't get hurt 2 if them managed to land a couple good blows but I'm the end at least I walked away. Learn to practice your tai Chi chuan at verying speeds. Learn the applications too them and learn Chi Na, witch literally means cease control. For some good instruction go to Ymaa.com and but the applications videos and the fight and Chi na vi

Awe once again here we find another person saying you can't use tai Chi. A you practice not just slow but at faster speeds. The show part is to divellop muscle memory so that when you do do it fast everything lands the same place. B knowing the applications to each move helps you to understand them and practice at faster speeds. C the use of Chi Na while practicing and in a real fight makes it a full rounded marital arts.

@huangjin800 Maybe you learn a different style of TaiChi. Also every teacher teaches on his or her own way. And everybody is "different", my TaiChi teacher is focusing alot on how YOU feel, doing a movement.

@pribadi8406 I do not care about purity of style; if say what I feel and how I am impressed; you can see from Commencement that this is true tai chi; the rest is unimportant; glad you agree this is beautifully performed! I would not call this CMC -although yes upper body/arms look CMC, lower body does not - too wide? The uploader says this is a "Traditional style" - but which? Again, I don't care much. Relax and enjoy!

The knees and elbows should not extend beyond the toes, because they are weaker past that point. This man is very grounded and connected.

Excellent, note he uses the hip & thighs for most of his movement and rarely extend his arms. If you have the dexterity to route power from your hip & thighs thru your arms, you can easily overpower anyone using upper body strength. You must work low stance leg strength for a long time to do tai chi like this. It's very nice to see someone else that does tai chi like me. I do ching man cheng yang style. TomB PS: pls don't remove it. I plan to watch it every day before I do tai chi.

Having seen all the more popular videos I stumbled upon this one. He is the best I have seen with one question mark as perhaps I am not at that level. I have been taught to stretch my arms all the way out, but of course the elbow is not extended. Maybe he is more advanced. Wish I could ask my Sifu for his comments.

@gordhill You're right about 5:35 and 7:20, those are obvious mistakes. I've only started practicing the Tai-Chi a year ago, and I've learned the mechanics of the basic 24 form - I repeat, only the mechanics (I still have to add proper breathing and the awarenes of the center which I have, but not all the time). So I'm always interested in others' opinions (not only my instructor's), because that's also a way to learn. Thanks both of you, @taijispirit and @gordhill.

He is not doing the normal competition type of 24 Yang Taiji. He is doing it with "Ji " in every move and at a slower pace. Perhaps mixing in some theory from CMC taiji style. Yes, in some movement he did not seem to complete the movement. If he is a sifu, I have seen worst. If he and his students are looking for '" Ji " in their movement, then it is quite good standard. If you want to win competition, then look elsewhere. Different people, different stroke.
