Ich habe den Rampler. Bedauerlicherweise ist nun zum zweiten Mal der Zipper defekt. Touratec benötigt jetzt 8 Wochen für die Reparatur. Und das für eine Premium Hersteller. Der Service ist eine Katastrophe
I have these gloves-they are fantastic! I love the combination of Gore Grip, complete leather construction, visor wiper, scaphoid slider, and Pittards waterproof leather. However, considering the price and the fact that they are a Touratech “Ultimate” product, the next version should be CE level 2.
I’m a U.S. expat now living in Hua Hin. I first got my motorcycle license in the States because of Long Way Down. I was stationed in Korea and it was on NATGEO on repeat. That show got me into bikes, and been riding ever since. Thank you Charley and your good buddy for that show.
i wonder how do you guys top up the fuel. Because in thailand countryside there is no proper fuel station. The groceries shop by the roadside is only selling low quality fuel. If I'm not wrong 1300GS & 1250GS need to refuel with RON95 petrol.

FUNtastic episodes! As a kid I was always fascinated by the Paris-Dakar Rally, and later Long Way Round (through Russia and Mongolia). After looking at a Touratech catalogue and a couple older magazines, Touratech Travel Time and Motorrad Abenteuer, I bought this year a BMW F800GS...ready to create my own experience.
The comment at the end of the little mini adventure was spot on. It's so much easier in this day and age to experience the world around us. Several years ago I had Canadian rider comment when traveling through Eswatini (Swaziland) how poor and backward the people were... I asked him late that evening about his own living circumstances. He lived in a small apartment, was single and had Netflix for company. The man he was commenting about was involved with subsistence farming, had three wives, several happy kids all going to school and his patch of land had an incredible view over the Swazi mountains... So Lekker🇿🇦 (means nice 😊), to watch the guys managing these rather large machines off road. We did Sani Pass here in Lesotho/South Africa recently on 1200GS bikes. I'm always in awe of how well they perform on the gravel. The rider is the limiting factor... the bikes are able to do almost anything 🤔. Keep it up lads, nice series of videos. Ciao, Joe. Big bikes are heavy and can cause erosion on natural trails. Especially when riding off-road on unpaved roads as seen in the video, the motorcycle tires can dig into the soil, which can lead to long-term damage. The video riding through a river section. Big bikes can disrupt the delicate ecosystem of rivers and streams. They can also cause problems for people who are using the waterways for transportation or recreation. Big bikes have large carbon footprints. The video does not mention how far Ewan is traveling, but a motorcycle trip like this would likely generate a significant amount of CO2 emissions.
This is just my opinion but there are many of us riding everywhere in Thailand , and we don't have film crews and support vehicles and make it look like Thailand is like a third world country. Riding these types of roads on a GS is a bit overkill, 300 cc motorcycles are better suited for this terrain. Purely a promotional video for Touratech. Again this is my opinion

I rode an older 1200GS down Sani Pass, Lesotho/South Africa recently. The big adv bikes are so capable and once off the rough stuff they cruise the bends beautifully. Definitely dual purpose touring bikes. Ciao, Joe. Due South Motorcycle Tours 🇿🇦
awesome series and well done mates ! I rode my pushbike from Munich to Singapore and spent nine months in this beautiful country. I love Thailand ! back in Germany I bought the BMW R1250 GSA Touratech World Travel Edition and I love it; a perfect bike for nearly every kind of travelling, but for such an offroad-trip I would prefer a much lighter bike... i.e. my Husky 701 or Yamaha Tenere700....and this trip is, of course, on my bucket list !
GS1300: too heavy, too expensive, too much electronics, too low, too complicated, too small footpegs, too low seat height, too fragile sump guard and crash bars. Nice headlight, drives nice/smooth, good brakes, good aftermarket for a motorcycle so short on the market, good quality options like foglights.
Unfortunately, extremely boring films and it doesn't get any better. Especially in the first part, snow-white clothes on dusty streets and not a single drop of sweat despite being fully clothed in the humidity in Thailand. I don't know. Purely a promotional event. A pity
Just came back from a hot 38C riding day and by watching episode 3, i feel like jump on my GS1250 again. Great video shooting with awesome people in a beautiful country. Thanks for inspiring.
