Hey! I'm Darran, I've been living on the road full-time in a motorhome since April 2017. I started off in a 2004 Fiat based Swift Sundance and have recently upgraded to a 2008 Renault based Burstner Delfin. It has the layout I was looking for, the space and most importantly, the payload!
I've learn loads since going full-time time and want to share the good, the bad and the ugly, as well as some hints and tips along the way to help anyone out there thinking of doing the same.
Have a good look around and please feel free to leave a comment & get involved :-)
Unfortunately people don't realize that RVs and caravans are a depreciating asset. They also need maintenance to keep them viable. Which means you take your whole home to a garage to service and fix. They don't last forever. They are too cramped for most people to enjoy - even the massive ones. I think people like the romanticism of living in a camper, the reality is it is not for most people. While I understand the UK is far too expensive for housing and wages are far too low, living in an RV is a BIG life decision and should not be taken lightly.
All good information. I have a Q. How do you insured yet live 365 in Motorhome. Most insurers say only for 3 months at a time ie 90 days continuous only !! What have you told your insurers Please.
Yes to more general life, with other content. But do keep the motorhome the main focus. Campervibe have done that well in the past, with that mix of life, travel and motorhome.
Liking the videos mate, newly subbed, read a couple negative comments on this vid cause of that hello fresh ad. Ignore that negativity, only thing I will say to aid you in staying healthy and for some good full body fitness is, buy a single 8/12kg kettlebell and KB swings every day. Start with 5/10 continuous swings and slowly build it up in increments of 5 until you hit 30/50, that will greatly help with weight control, overall health, and the best part, it burns massive calories in like 10/20 min. Super easy my dude, grab it, swing it and done. Boom, my partner isn’t a fan of fitness but I showed her this KB and got her to swing is 25 times in a row, everyday and that’s she’s done. She just cracks them out in 5 min and fitness done for that day hahaha! Anyway keep up the vids!
Hi Darren, another great vlog... enjoy your channel. Can you tell me what your email address is please. I met you at one of the van life festivals and you told me to drop you a message. I did so but didn't get a reply so maybe had the wrong address. Kind regards Frank.
Don’t stop enjoying your grub x as long as you can get about and do the things you need to do and it’s not making you ache crack on x people are too quick to categorise others x I ain’t no size 10 but I have an allergy to cheese if I hadn’t I would eat my body weight in it x keep smiling xx

Theres a couple. Of places for you to go to for food 1. Mill Rd, just of east Rd where there are loads of restaurants. 2. Rockers Steak House on Cambridge Leisure Park.
Oh Dazza! Beer battered cauliflower wings are sooo delish! Especially when they are covered in sticky sauce and sesame seeds! Mmmmm! And yes the cheeses are delish too! Cue Monty Python cheese sketch👍😁🙋🪤
Cambridge University and it's colleges basically own the city, amongst other places throughout the world. Nothing gets built here without their collective say-so. Oh, and watch out for the delivery guys on their cycles, scooters and ebikes! They appear out of nowhere! Some have no lights! Always on their phones! Most of them are dressed in black clothing! They are CRAZY MFkrs! How most of them are not dead is beyond me! But hey, CU do great Law Moots and Dinners! 😮😢😂👍😁🪤🙏
Hi Darran. I now live in Cambridge and yes like any old city, its lovely. But to a point. If you are a student, a visitor or have lots of money and time to spend it can be a fascinating place. But if you are homeless it's a nightmare. You will see a great deal of poverty living side by side with wealth and it is very very sad. Some of the housing estates don't fair much better with rubbish and drug deals in abundance. CU like to keep out the riffraff. Hence why the walls of Cambridge University are so high. Town versus gown. But it has always been thus since it's creation. On a more positive note, here's a factoid: Cambridge University is in effect a spin-off from Oxford University. Check out why. And yes, the Cabbage Moor site is one of the best CCC sites I've stayed at. Staff were fantastic! I just wish they had more washing machines! Hope you enjoyed yourself. Safe travels. 🙋🙂👍🏴🇮🇪🪤😁
So I se the council will let you ride their little orange electric scooters for money but bans people from having their own electric scooters to run around on, typical. As one type 2 diabetic to another I do not think your Keto diet is very effective mate.
Wish I'd known you were coming, could have given you a tour of some of the university. Cambridge is certainly unique, they may look at the camera but walk through town mid week in a dinner jacket and people don't bat an eyelid 😊
Great video matey, if your in a big city or town use bolt instead of Uber as normally half the price, when we were in Boston lincs, we did the walk up the tower when we got back down the vicar was there Richard Coles from the Communards we told him to put in a helter skelter 😂 😂😂 absolutely knackered we were
I said in a other video somewhere that you use a steering wheel lock and my dad's van got robbed late 2023 and they saw the pedal lock left the van Straight away.😁
Great vlog mate, I just really hope Wallace & Gromit are watching too . Can’t wait for the cheese collab, although I will have to find a way to stop Beth watching or she will be dragging me off to that shop
Cambridge looks like you need at least a couple of weeks to explore it all , blown away by the Old World Buildings I'm happy when i see you Smiling and having a good time , great video
