I love roasted beets.cut the ends off, with a little garlic and olive oil, wrapped in foil in the oven. the skin slides right off if they're cooked right
@@NatesUrbanGarden it's amazing. no pots and pans either 🤣 you can probably find it on you tube. for the temperature etc. but I do 375 and it takes longer for the bigger ones but around an hour generally speaking
Hiya, Nate! 🥰🌱❤️ Just found your channel, and love what you’re doing. Your harvests are really something!!! 😮😮😮 Thanks for sharing what you do with your harvest. Beats are something I have yet to grow successfully in the last four years of gardening! 😅😂
Hello and Thanks so much! I’m glad you like the harvests and I appreciate you watching. So far what I’ve realized with beets is it’s about timing. In my u expert opinion, they hate the heat so plant them early. I also planted them directly in compost. That may have helped.
Your videos inspire. My peppers are midgets next to yours and I'm in the same zone (8b/9a) in Texas. I hope to learn more about soil and watering in future videos so I can improve. Keep it up and thanks.
Thanks a lot. Usually the first few harvests are decently sized like these and they get smaller as the season goes forward so don’t get too down. I think it’s the heat that we experience here but I could be wrong. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Good luck.
I had palpitations here and there. At 62 I had two heart attacks. I had a congenital heart arithyma problem ( (SVT) that went unnoticed. I had outpatient surgery that corrected it. My Dad also has an issue with the rhythm but it's not what I had...make them send you to a heart rhythm specialist. Beets may strengthen the heart but it won't put the rhythm in sync.
If okra is woody it doesn't matter how long you boil it its not edible unless you consider chewing tree limbs edible. so using size isn't always the best indicator because long horn okra can be big and not fibrous. The better way to tell is bending the tip. If it bends easily or breaks its tender if it doesn't bend leave it on there for seeds. Keep in mind when you have a platform you will have new gardeners watching you so accurate info very important to their success. I'm saying this out of love not malice.
Thanks for dropping some knowledge. Though it may not seem like it, I have only been gardening for a couple of years so I am still a rookie. I’ll definitely have to start testing the tips.
@@NatesUrbanGarden you're doing great!!! i definitely cant tell. please dont take that comment as me being mean or harsh but people will watch you see how good you are doing and assume youre a pro your garden looks just that good.
Hi. Just found your channel. That's a great beetroot harvest! How long do they keep in the box? I struggle to grow beetroot just because the slugs usually win (hubby and I live in the UK so slugs are our constant companions 🤣). When we do have a harvest, we never store them. We eat them fresh harvesting right through the growing season and if we have a glut (rarely) we make beetroot relish. YUM! I look forward to seeing more of your garden.
Wow, thanks for watching all the way from The UK. I didn’t store them In the box for longer than a couple of days. If I had tried to store them any longer they would have started to go bad within a weeks time. Glad to have you as a sub.
Thanks. I will definitely make some planting vids as I go forward. Unfortunately I had not started this RU-vid channel when I planted earlier in the season.
Hey Nate! Just found your channel. I’m processing my beet harvest today so this was the perfect video for my morning coffee. By the way I lost 150 lbs and I understand the struggle. I’m looking forward to more videos.
I hope your beet harvest is an awesome one. Also 150 lbs is such an amazing feat. Way to go on that. Hopefully soon enough I’ll be at my target weight. Thanks for the inspiration.
100% with you on the sleeves and gloves thing. Applying granulated fertilizer without sleeves on one time and my arms STUNK. The powder settled on my arms and I had to use some pumice soap to get it off, you never know what you're exposing yourself to out there!
