Congrats on your renovation journey and moving in. I am just wondering, wouldn’t the track lights be overly excessive? In the sense, the lights are targeted in a small area instead of dispersing around the entire area. Eg, the Kitchen area you have the lights concentrated at 3 spots instead of say, an LED light strip that disperses light uniformly throughout the area and less harsh on the eyes? Presumably, if you get a dimmable spot light maybe that helps a little?
Hello! We get where you're coming from. For the track lights, we chose it as we wanted to focus on a certain area for eg. our picture frames on the walls to highlight it. LED light strips works great to disperse light equally around so it's up to individual and how you wish to plan for your home. The dimmable option would definitely offer more flexibility too! 🙂

I am thinking of doing smart switches for all my AC + all Lgt swithes. What is your damages for your Hub + Switches ? To integrate everthing are what platform are you using? @lifewithmaniac thx for responding! But doesn't that mean the hdb trap has to be removed too before the new trap can be done? Different id saying different things so im not sure. I was told as long as trap is changed, be it overlay or not the warranty is alr void.
yup, our original trap was removed to make way for the new one. we heard a lot of mixed responses on the waterproofing warranty as well but decided to go ahead with it. I guess if you want to be 100% safe you can check directly with HDB on what the warranty coverage is like before proceeding!
Hello! We planned for it to arrive after tiling, however we got it slightly earlier as we couldn't control the actual shipment date from taobao. You can also consider 3rd party option to keep it at a separate store until you are ready to receive the goods!
Just make sure your silicone seal around the wall edge is perfect. If water gets in, those vinyl areas will pop. Also if you mop, the dirty mop water will make the skirting area dirty
for us we'll still prefer no skirting as we like to flush our furniture against the wall. the robot vacuum does knock onto the walls sometimes and there is a slight mark which can be cleaned away.
Hello! The L20 Ultra has been working great for us so far. We really like the worry free maintenance it gives us when using it. Setup was easy to get it running. Depending if you're going for the water hookup kit option, all you need is just a electrical connection point for power. 😊

For the water test in the toilet, it’s best to use a long leveller , the leveller should show u how much is slanted to the drainage….the tiler use this method to prepare the cement base..
Bro, may I ask how long does your Carpenter finsh all the works? Ihmo, for your water dispenser, I am thinking, is it advisable to pull the water pipe all the way near the dinning area? ,etc. Putting near the basin seems not so advisable etc. Also, I am thinking of bypassing the filter for the water dispenser, etc. :ps: I gonna get a cheap type, etc.
hello! if i recall correctly it's within a month. For your water dispenser, you can run a pipe all the way to the dining area but likely the pipes will be exposed if not hidden within the tiles which you have to plan ahead. It all depends on the design of you home and where you find it most suitable for you. As for the filter, it's totally up to you. The water from the tap is safe to drink afterall.😅
Hello! It depends on the features that you're looking at for your robot vacuum. The L20 Ultra definitely stands out if you're looking at something with the least maintenance and don't mind paying extra for it. Otherwise, there are other models which are also great and affordable as well.

Just to check if the trunking from compressor at aircon ledge to toilet, do you actually choose a position to pipe through or is there a pre cut hole for the trunking? If there si a precut hole, are you not allowed to change position? Thanks alot...
Hello! Congrats on your new home! There is a fixed cutout for the aircon trunking to run through the toilet to the aircon ledge. I believe you can't modify this position. You may wish to check with your ID/aircon supplier to confirm!
did u specially request them to ship with the wooden racks or they automatically did it for you? cause im considering idk if i want to use 3rd party shipper or just use taobao's, not sure if there's a big price diff? cause i know if use 3rd party shipper it's abit more troublesome since there's extra steps of updating each item right?@@lifewithmaniac
We requested for them to ship with the wooden racks! you'll just have to top up a little for the extra service via messaging the seller. You're right about the extra steps if you go through a 3rd party shipper which we've tried before. Price difference definitely will have some slight savings. However, we valued the convenience more so we went ahead with taobao's shipper direct. Hope this helps! 🙂

Hello! We're not too sure about the submission process as we left it to our main con to liaise with the electricians. You may consult with your ID/contractor on this. 🙂
Hello! HDB will send you an SMS on the key collection date. Depending on the stage of your BTO project progress, you will be able to estimate the date.
I see...perhaps you'll like to follow up with your officer to escalate your case. It also depends on the progress of your new home. if it isn't ready yet, i don't think you can collect your keys any sooner. Hope all goes well for you! 🙂

As I’m have no experience in the work of overlaying of tiles, hoping to seek advice from anyone here in understanding if what my tilers said is really true or I should insist on zero hollow spot?

Hi! Great looking colours! Was wondering is there a reason why you did not paint yellow for all the yard walls, specifically the one below the window. I've also painted my yard in a peach and notice that that space below the window shows the colour darker than the sides. Was wondering if it's the reflection of wall colour causing that.
Hello! We did consider painting it all yellow initially but wanted the yellow to stand out (like 2 feature walls). No specific reason for it. 😂 Peach is a nice choice of colour too!✌🏽 Perhaps it could be due to no light reflecting on the space below the window compared to the sides, hence it may appear darker.
