LOL....That's what it looks like with the upgrades... I couldn't have figured that out...but, thanks...I like the exhaust and the pegs....looks great...!!
Hi Todd, love your bike. I’m currently shopping for a dual sport. I was wondering if there is plenty of room to fit a good sized knobby under the little front fender? Appreciate anyone’s feedback. Thank you
Hey im sure you possibly could. As there was lots of clearance. Unfortunately I no longer have this bike, or any bike for that matter. I got seriously injured in a workplace accident so I am unable to ride. Hopefully again one day I will be able to get another bike though. I do miss this bike. She was a lot of fun.
You simply remove the smaller fender or raise it . I would raise it.. The smaller fender keeps a lot of mud off the engine's fins which are responsible for cooling the bike...
I sincerely doubt you dropped 12 lbs of weight with the FMF muffler as the stock one only weights that much. So the FMF weighs nothing ? I've never seen a documented hp or power gain with any of the muffler changes either if that is what folks are expecting. Ditto for the K&N as a massive change. Folks are free to add what they want, I just want them to get some benefit for their money unless it's a feel good type accessory. Most of the other mods are quite useful however like the skid plate, light bulb, protective brake cover and wide pegs. The tires will be an improvement as well.
Nope. But I sold the bike a few months ago unfortunately...got hurt on the job few years ago and havent been able to ride. So it breaks my heart but at least it's being used. Whichbis better than collecting dust in my garage.
Hi from Australia, I changed bikes a year ago from a BMW1150GS to my tiny XT250 & hate its guts. My XT500 a hundred years ago was my inspiration to buy this modern Yami & i hate it ! Hopefully your video showing some noise & power mods have stopped me throwing it off my shoulder into the sea next weekend.
I talked my misso into getting one because she found my WR too tall and yeah... it's a shit little piglet that sounds like a sewing machine. Wouldn't rip the skin off a rice pudding.
Tom Mannix ha ha that’s funny! I bought an XT 250 and yes it is a gutless wonder. I wanted a WR but that was like climbing on the back of a camel without a ladder. I’m 70 years old and still like to ride.
Yo Todd I’ve created a channel about trail riding in Alabama. I’ll be mostly riding a 2009 XT250 check it out I’ll definitely be putting it to the test . Pack Bound
Jason Ta yes the mats are in great shape. We've had a brutally long harsh winter here and they have certainly passed the test I'll be doing another video soon. I highly recommend these mats!
Todd Marten I’m definitely digging the mods you’ve done to yours . I use mine mostly for trail riding so I’m looking to take a bit of weight off the bike .
Anthony Baker me too! I've removed a lot of weight. Passenger footpegs taken off. Fastway footpegs for me remove stock muffler (removes 12-14lbs) remove stock handlebars it all adds up! Safe riding brother
BaronBoar my rear fender is just fine. You have to remember that this bike is only 249cc. So it's really not built for steady highway riding. That's my guess anyways. I don't ride on Highway. Back roads. Main roads etc. And trails. My cruising speed is usually anywhere between 60-90km/h. I have taken a lot of weight off the bike and I've had it up to 136km/h. But then again it didn't like it. Ride it like it's meant to be ridden it's not a 2 stroke full out dirt bike. It's an adventure bike dual sport. Just have fun. I have no problems with melting fenders. Hope this helps!!
I bought my XT250 used (340 mi.) last summer. It came with the FMF muffler. It's loud and melted my fender after a long day, part of which was at fairly high highway speed. Not ideal conditions for this bike, but sometimes you have to "ride what you brung! I wish it had come with the stock muffler.
The fenders are melting because with the fuel injected xt's, you have to install a fuel programmer when you get an fmf. They run really lean when you slap an fmf on. You also have to install the spacer they send you
TexasRider90 *Beefy* hey again dude! What exactly do you want? And can you be more specific about changing the interface? Do you want a windscreen or...?
TexasRider90 *Beefy* ohhhh okay! Lol yes definitely! But I would not go with a stock display. I am looking into getting the trailtech vapor display. Looks pretty nice! www.trailtech.net/digital-gauges/vapor
TexasRider90 *Beefy* hey bud! Used eBay for a lot of my mods. And also www.motosport.com I will be doing another video shortly as I have done a few more upgrades I want to share with you all! Stay Tuned!!!
Steve Li thanks bud! They are cycra ultra pro bend. Expensive but worth every cent. Also have asv unbreakable stubby levers forgot to show in video. Will do another video soon have done a few more upgrades since
Hi there! I like the footpegs, and I checked on a suppliers website: none offered for the XT250. So I guess you found one that’s compatible? Which model?
Keshab Ghatane through works connection website. Very simple install. Wrap red wire around spark plug cable and run black wire up underneath panels and bolt into place on top bolt for fuel tank. Order the mounting kit also.
I've had my xt 250 for about 10 years and it's still reliable as ever ... absolutely love this bike and your mods are awesome man ha e me some great ideas
Zeemofree not yet, but I do plan to install one next year when I'm healed up enough to ride again. Shoulder surgery. It's not necessary to install with the fmf, but I plan on doing some engine mods down the road so it's a good call to install a PC.
