I have the 26oz Easton alpha USA, and just preordered the mx torch alloy in 25oz. Sad it won’t be here til after fall ball but I’m enjoying the alpha! Just wanted to try a torch and couldn’t resist ordering.
That Alpha might be the surprise of the season! After so many years of the Easton Ghost repaints not performing well I wasn't expecting much. But it has surpassed expectations that is for sure.
Always meant to ask you in regards to the Alloy handles. I haven't hit with one in probably 15 years. Besides the fact that they are stiffer than even the stiffest composite handles, what other differences do you feel and why is alloy your #1? I kind of want to pre-order one on the new Monsta Torches with the alloy handles....
Old (M2) maybe 300-500 swings and you'll start to notice a difference. New (M5) it depends. I have seen M5s break after 500, but also seen them really open up too.
Many of them will start out well. Some might have a quiet zone a couple hundred swings in. But once you get past that it should keep improving. Really good around 500. Maybe full potential around 800-1k. I don't think I noticed a difference between M2 and M5 except that M5 are generally lighter and the paint doesn't chip. I'd choose the M5 most of the time if all else was equal. The MX seems to get up to speed faster though, but I've only had the MX Torch. Unless the SB1 is MX also, that one takes longer, but wow is that a great bat.
Bat Hound!!!! Quick question; have you got your hand on one of the new 1-piece MX "Torch" ''Balanced" bats in either weight yet? I am curious to know about the weighting and feel of these in "balanced" and to know how close it is to an original Sinister 25 oz in the M2. I can't decide whether to get a 25 or 26 oz and want to be as close as possible to the 25oz Sinister M2. Anything you got on that would be greatly appreciated!
Hey man quick question. I like the feel of a slightly endloaded bat. I currently have a balanced blacksheep, I was wondering if the sinister will have a little bit of endload feel or if I'm better off going for a endload blacksheep. Any feedback on how a sinister and a el blacksheep swing/feel would be much appreciate!
@@bathound Gorman’s MX Torch is nuclear right now. I’ve got about 850 hits on the SB1 and it’s really heating up… I’m surprised how much it took to break that bat in… One guy on our team loves it and is just mashing with it though.
@@SoftballJunkies I more impressed with the early progress of the MX Torch than I was anticipating that is for sure. My 26oz SB1 is doing pretty good, but the 25oz is trying to take over the Sinister.
I've gotten it out in the cage twice now and wow was that a pleasant surprise. Easton might be back on the ASA/USA softball map. Can't wait to get it out on the field to see it in action a little better.
These are the replacments due to the ban of that 1st Edition last year. I had 2 of them in which Pure replaced with this SkyBlue Version. It was great to see the swings you did here.
@bathound I had not taken it out as I was slightly disappointed with the 1st version in which I actually sold to a Board Bro on SBF, but once the ban came, I offered to take it back. Well, after your review and ask here. I'm still disappointed. After 2nd swing off T, something came loose. Sounds like a small rubber ball when tilted up and down. Maybe a piece of the so-called pad came loose? I'm not sure. Kept hitting it another 10 more hits, and the rattle is the same. I'm not sure if it is returnable. Distance similar to other Pure I have and maybe slightly better than that 1st edition. 😟
So far it is in my opinion. The main question left for me is if the MX Torch with the alloy handle will perform better than this one. I have preferred those alloy handles over the standard ones so far. They just announced there is an alloy MX Torch in the works which I look forward to.
@@bathoundI don’t know much about Monsta been a Pure fan. Just got my first Monsta bat which is Ominous (black sheep balanced) that thing is fire so far also has the alloy handle
I had the 26oz. Sorry I didn't try the 27oz. Sometimes the heavier bat in the same model is preferred, but the majority of times I like the lighter one.
Like always, great video! Being mic'd up was cool. Still waiting on that Easton Alpha video lol. I swung mine over the weekend very lightly. It seems solid. Once I get fully cleared by my DR I will open it up some more.
Thanks for watching! Sorry, the schedule took over at the end of the week last week when I wanted to get out and swing it. For real hoping this week allows for the time!
SIR! This is not the Easton Alpha.. lol. Once again, great video! PS. I went ahead and ordered the Easton Alpha, I should be getting it delivered today. Once I am cleared to swing again (Shoulder surgery last month from Spring season softball injury) I will 100% test it out. I can't wait.
@@bathound oh nice. Can’t wait to see what you think about it. My delivery got delayed until til today. UPS was down yesterday due to the cyber issue going on. Yeah man!! I dislocated it sliding and it torn the labrum and broke the bone socket. I had surgery on the 25th of June. The doctors said I am healing up super fast and way ahead of schedule. Hoping to be able to play within the first couple weeks of fall ball.
I have the white 1 piece 1 oz. Endload KoD with about 600 swings on it as well. It absolutely smashes. I'm able to hit 100 exit velo off the tee and I've never done that with any other bat I've had.
this is great to hear! I'm trying to get more swings on my 1pc KoD 1oz. It would be fantastic if it could do even better than this 2pc alloy handle one!
If you get your hands on the ASA/USA Easton Alpha, I'd love to see your take on that bat. I am waiting for them to restock the 27oz one. It looks like a bat that I'd really like.
@@bathound Oh awesome!!! From everything I've seen and read, you will really like it. Just the rubber handle is throwing everyone off. But other than that, it is a beast of a bat.
The Black King of Diamonds is my gamer, I had to do the exact same thing, the moment that I fell in love with it, I had to make sure that I had a second one. But that MX Torch is fire as well, just need one in the Black KoDs specs....
Nice, great to hear you love it also! I'm excited about the MX Torch with the alloy handle that just went up for preorder this week. I do have sad news though, this KoD had two home runs in the first game yesterday. Almost had a third but the right fielder robbed it with an amazing catch. Anyhow, during bp before the second game of the day the KoD cracked :( I'm assuming it is a fluke. Or maybe someone mixed in a .44/375 in the bucket. Not sure. Glad I have that other one.
