This is an older video but I’ve been neon obsessed for a bit. Jane Davenport has some really interesting neons and just beautiful bright, bold colors they’re mostly just available on her site. They’re a mixture of watercolor and gouache, Layer Cakes is the name but she has just a small palette of pinks, a huge palette of neons, metallics, etc. She has also come out with a bunch of new watercolors that are artist grade rather than the ‘craft type’ paint so it’s lightfast and has all the pigments listed, etc. I’m super new to higher quality watercolor/gouache. I just paint for fun anyway so I’m very much into the beginning phase of my artistic adventure 😊 anyway, I’m in the US and I received the items in less than two weeks from AU. Love your work, this is a fun piece and I really enjoy how it came together. I adore all your work though so I’m biased
I really like talens amsterdam acrylic inks but I understand what you mean when you mention the plastic look of it. I enjoy making my drawings really pigmented so these work super well for that. However I have a bunch of watercolor talens ink and they are also really pigmented so these could be a great alternative since they do not leave the same texture when they dry :)
i just love their packaging, its so pretty, the graphic designer in me is drooling over it 😝 paint with bleach outside! can get some really neat effects with it...but it can also mess with your lungs/eyes etc (from an artist who used many mediums without thinking they would mess up her lungs 😝)

One reason the swatches are bad is because it seems like you didn't use the right kind of watercolor paper so it's all wavy and creating tons of pooling which messes up these swatches. Along with the fact that you use to much water and ink, but dang you have an AWESOME COLLECTION and lucky to have all of these, tons of money worth
Oh I quite like using lot's of water, since it allows the ink to create separating effects if they have that capability ⭐ I do feel quite fortunate to be able to have this collection, it's my treasure ⭐
If I was a watercolor artist I would 100% have every one of this brands colors and would make my art with these colors forget fountain pen, give me brushes
Hi! Apologies for such a late reply! When it comes to watercolor, I think my fave set that I have is a Mijello Mission Gold, though it's been ages since I've used it! In terms of paper, I've quite liked anything that has a more smoother surface, since I've been doing more ink or marker are lately.

Your color combinations are always gorgeous. I would love to see a video where you explain your color choices, and why you use certain colors in specific places. I try to do what you do and it always ends up looking odd. Hahah 😂 Also, I’m happy you are not overwhelmed by going back to work. ❤

I bought the full set of these and they don't work well on paper and they are not opaque as advertised. The majority of nibs were dried out so.. Please think twice before you buy them.
So sorry you had a bad experience with these. If you have lot's of nibs damaged, you could reach out to Karin? Or where you got this? That's most likely a defective set. Hope everything turned out okay in the end!
