so, hear me out i have a corrupt WD my passport ... sh1tty drive dont recommend can i shuck the old broken one and pit a new one inside ot onstead of buying a new one?
You'll have to check internally how it all connects. I would say without having seen your old WD, that it would be doable. SATA data and power connectors
For me it took maybe 1 to 2 hours, without knowing where to pry and finding the screws for the dash. I would give myself a full day or half day to tackle this job at home. So not rushing and missing anything when putting it back together.
You start at 1 corner and pry it. Carefully, respectfully and with love. Having Patience while doing this is a must, use the small thin flat blade and pry. Anyone can do it and so can you!
