Just a random guy having fun making video about his Bourbon journey in the UK. If you like bourbon - drop a sub and join me for pour as we expore this thing we all love and enjoy.
Thanks for the sub and yeah it's a really good price, they have great prices on the fully pappy and BTAC collections too... might be a celebratory one of those once i hit some channel goals
I follow The British Bourbon Society on Facebook too, though I don't look much at Facebook these days; I really love Bourbon as well and will try and keep my eyes peeled for the kind of events you mentioned. I hope to see you one day soon mate to discuss and drink American Whiskies. I'm in London; where are you?
I get around and often try to get to London events so may see you there! Do feel welcome to come say hello and introduce yourself if you see me plonking around.
BiB McKenna in the states is hit or miss. I have had some bangers and others have been flat. I am happy to found a banger! It used to be very allocated but can find it everywhere now. Cheers
Hi there, just found your videos and am intrigued by what's happening with Single Malt in the US and Bourbon overseas and in the UK. I think worlds are starting to collide in the whiskey culture and it will be interesting to see what evolves. I am excited to follow your Bourbon adventures. I live in Ohio just an hour north of New Riff. My son just moved home from Glasgow and we hope to visit the UK soon, so he can see some friends. Cheers and keep the great content coming.
Thanks - Yeah i'm hoping some more of the bourbon mash bills make it into the UK, it would be interesting how the cooler climate aged them, I would expect they would take longer - but it would give a different profile. And thanks for the encouragement on the channel. It's just a bit of fun and a big part of bourbon for me is the community, not just the juice.
Thank you received the sample, my thoughts I like it it’s good. I found it very smooth and I can taste a lot of oakiness in there, a hint of vanilla there too. I thought it was low on the sweet side but quite a creamy taste also, not much of a burn at all which was surprising considering the proof. It was very good overall, I will definitely keep my eye out for a bottle and thank you again for sending me a sample very appreciated
With standard Buffalo Trace regularly available at £19 (I once purchased for 16), Eagle Rare for £32 and Sazerac Rye for £30 - their prices were high. Plus there are other distilleries also pushing in UK like Heaven Hill's Elijah Craig at £32 pounds and Four Roses for around £21 for the standard and small batch for around £26 Just shop around. But would love the tasting experience what was the cost.
I went for the larger tasting which was £35. Can certainly get cheaper tastings but sometimes it's nice to understand things direct from the brand. As far as bottle prices too, in store isn't going to be the cheapest you can get - but that's to be expected. Flagship stores like this are about the brand awareness; particularly with a central location like this. Also great for American tourists who may visit London but not Kentucky. To me as well it says to me they are really pushing / testing this market more and I don't mind spending a few extra £'s to send the message back to their head office - yes! we want you here! It's better than than save the extra £5 when ER is on Tesco clubcard. (Although i'll prob get that too!)
There was a few in the queue for sure, and wheni've been passed since as they can't get some of the stuff like Eagle Rare etc over there like we can easily here. One American also was very keen to make sure he got a Buffao Trace London branded hat as well. Was pleasantly surprised by the vokda though...
sazerac is more expensive than eagle rare? that’s crazy. i live in houston texas, sazerac is ~$25 bottle (~20 gbp) and eagle rare is impossible to find. it was allocated at a local store a few months ago. it was $60 and only sold in a bundle with another bottle…
